About the Role

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Store Operations team. Please note: this is not a remote work opportunity.  You will lead operational projects and data-driven decisions for multiple business channels. Working with Ops, IT, and partners, you will lead the implementation of business process enhancements to improve productivity in the stores, reduce costs and provide technical solutions driving through technical enhancements that improve store processes. You will be a conduit between the Field and the Store Support Center and gain working knowledge of Total Wine & More's operating and inventory systems.  Internally, your title will be Business Analyst, Store Operations.  You will report to the Manager, Store Operations and work at our Bethesda, Maryland headquarters.

You will

  • Process daily operational reporting functions supporting Store Operations
  • Help develop the implementation of technical and business process improvements in partnership with Operations and IT, business owners and field leadership
  • Develop reporting via SQL querying and PowerBI to translate financial and operational data into insights for major Store Operations Projects
  • Help troubleshoot custom and third-party software solutions and use their capabilities to create operational efficiencies and field execution
  • Manage data, collaborate and make enhancements to programs and find solutions to barriers
  • Gather requirements and perform cost/benefit analyses
  • Lead the development of project deliverables such as As-Is/To-Be documentation, process maps, use cases, and test cases
  • Create and deliver process improvement to field
  • Create and deliver training to end-users within company guidelines

You will come with

  • BS/BA required
  • Advanced skill level in SQL, Power BI & Excel (perform data analysis and report development) = REQUIRED skills
  • 4+ years reporting analyst experience OR 2+ years of Total Wine & More Corporate reporting analyst experience (Power BI, SQL, SIP, X-Store POS or APEX) OR Total Wine & More Store experience with a recent degree in data analytics (SQL is a MUST)
  • Project management certification / best practices or tools (e.g., PMBOK, CMM)
  • Business process improvement skills and methodologies (e.g., BPR, Six Sigma, CMMI)
  • Experience querying relational databases using MS Access or SQL
  • Availability to do out of state travel up to 25% of the year and work some nights and weekends when needed
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs and climb a ladder
  • Readiness to work 4 days/week at our Bethesda, Maryland headquarters (option to work 1 day/week from home)
