</div><div><p><span style="">The Principal IT Data Scientist leads the design and delivery of data‑driven solutions by leveraging large datasets, advanced analytics and reporting, and machine learning. <li style=""><span style="">Engage with internal clients to understand business needs, refine requirements, and translate them into clear analytic deliverables.</span></li>
<li style=""><span style="">Work with employees throughout the company to assist them in the design, creation, publishing, update and maintenance of business intelligence reports (e.g. in Power BI or Tableau) or other data analysis tools.</span></li>
<li style=""><span style="">Assistance to client may cover data Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL), data model creation, calculations (e.g. Power BI DAX), report creation, and publishing</span></li>
<li style=""><span style="">Design and implement advanced statistical, machine learning, and AI‑enabled models that address complex business problems.</span></li>
<li style=""><span style="">Communicate technical findings in clear, actionable terms suited to non technical audiences.</span></li>
<li style=""><span style="">Guide data wrangling, feature engineering, and data enrichment efforts to improve model performance.</span></li>
<li style=""><span style="">Lead junior data scientists and analysts, promoting best practices in modeling, testing, and deployment.</span></li>
<li style=""><span style="">Assist as needed with governance of data, analytics, automation and AI.</span></li>

<li><span style="">BA/BS degree in computer science, data science, information science or related field.</span></li>
<li><span style="">8 years of relevant experience.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Experience with Power BI and/or other data visualization software.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Strong knowledge of data mining techniques, data modeling, and statistical analysis.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Experience using query languages (SQL) and developing and maintaining ETL workflows (e.g. SSIS).</span></li>
<li><span style="">Ability to use AWS services to deploy scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Proficiency in Python for analytics and model development.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Must be detailed oriented and have experience working with large data sets.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate highly technical concepts in a clear, succinct, and relevant way to non-technical stakeholders.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Results-oriented, data-driven, and self-motivated.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Ability to support production environments with occasional off‑hours availability if required.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.<br><br></span></li>

<p><strong><span style="">Desired:</span></strong></p>

<li><span style="">Experience with AI/ML frameworks and emerging technologies such as generative AI, LLMs, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).</span></li>
<li><span style="">Experience deploying models into production and monitoring performance (MLOps), including model lifecycle management and performance tracking.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., SSIS, AWS Glue, or similar tools).</span></li>
<li><span style="">Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and responsible AI practices.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Knowledge of IT testing methodologies and/or project management.</span></li>
<li><span style="">AWS and/ or Power BI certifications.</span></li>
<li><span style="">Experience with robotic process automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate, Automation Anywhere).</span></li>
<li><span style="">Prior experience mentoring or supporting junior analytics staff.</span></li>
