<p>We are seeking a Director of Global Compliance to lead and oversee export and trade compliance programs across a global organization. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. and international regulations, developing robust compliance strategies, and partnering with cross-functional and international teams to support business operations in a highly regulated environment.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Oversee and direct company-wide export and trade compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations</li>
<li>Obtain, maintain, and monitor U.S. government export/import licenses, agreements, and authorizations under relevant regulatory frameworks and platforms (e.g., EAR/SNAP-R, ITAR/DECCS, and similar).</li>
<li>Draft and file ITAR Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing Licensing Agreements, and foreign launch Technology Transfer Control Plans, and domestic Technology Control Plans</li>
<li>Serve as the organization’s designated Empowered Official for regulatory filings, registrations, and government applications</li>
<li>Act as a subject matter expert in export compliance across multiple business units and global operations</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all applicable export and trade requirements</li>
<li>Develop and execute comprehensive export compliance strategies aligned with U.S. and international regulatory standards</li>
<li>Design and implement trade compliance policies and procedures across cross-functional departments</li>
<li>Classify commodities, hardware, and technical data under applicable export control regulations (e.g., ECCN classifications)</li>
<li>Partner with engineering, production, and operations teams to determine jurisdiction and classification of products and technologies</li>
<li>Manage international shipments and logistics processes to ensure compliance with export control and trade regulations</li>
<li>Review contracts and related documentation to assess export control requirements and licensing needs</li>
<li>Coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners to maintain ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements</li>
<li>Implement export control protocols and procedures for foreign visitors to AST facilities</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>
<p>Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Engineering, Legal Studies, or related field preferred)</p>
<p><strong>Experience:</strong></p>
<p>A minimum of 5 years of experience in export compliance, global trade compliance, or a related field</p>
<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience serving as an ITAR Empowered Official or similar regulatory authority role</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of U.S. export regulations, including EAR and ITAR</li>
<li>Experience supporting international operations and global compliance programs</li>
<li>Familiarity with licensing processes, compliance audits, and regulatory reporting</li>
<li>Experience working in a highly regulated or technical industry</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Technology Stack:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Export compliance and trade management systems</li>
<li>Export licensing and monitoring platforms – BIS SNAP-R; DOS DECCS; DTSA systems</li>
<li>Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP or similar)</li>
<li>Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)</li>
<li>Regulatory research and classification tools/databases</li>
<li>Descartes Visual Compliance</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods</li>
<li>Ability to review detailed documentation and perform compliance-related analysis</li>
</ul>
