About the position:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to join our Finance team. This individual will support a wide range of accounting functions with a focus on tax compliance, helping ensure the integrity of tax returns and compliance with local accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance & Filings

  • Prepare and submit municipal and governmental tax obligations for the company, such as ICA, IVA, withholdings, and the annual tax return declaration.
  • Ensure compliance with government tax regulations (DIAN).
  • Support the preparation of tax audit reviews (including withholding taxes).

Accounting Support

  • Book and record vendor invoices, payments, and journal entries in the accounting system.
  • Support the monthly payroll process, including validating hours, deductions, and statutory contributions (seguridad social, parafiscales).
  • Assist with account reconciliations and supporting documentation for month-end close.
  • Perform the daily reconciliation of the invoice warehouse against accounts payable.
  • Perform bank reconciliations (daily); weekly pre-reconciliations must also be performed after each Friday payment run.
  • Perform the monthly reconciliation of fixed assets (matching the Office Management inventory report against NetSuite and preparing the corresponding journal entry adjustments).
  • Manage books and records for property, plant, and equipment processes.
  • Provide support to other team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Licensed and registered as a Contador Público with the Junta Central de Contadores (active professional card/tarjeta profesional).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or tax.
  • Strong knowledge of Colombian tax and accounting regulations (required); familiarity with US GAAP or IFRS is a plus.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Odoo) and financial reporting.
  • Advanced MS Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with tax-specific platforms (e.g., ARUS, Aportes en Línea, Rippling) and DIAN’s electronic platforms for filing tax returns and other tax-related procedures.
  • Experience in multinational companies or organizations with a large workforce in Colombia is a plus.
  • Familiarity with social security and payroll-related statutory contributions (seguridad social, parafiscales) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • English proficiency at a B1 (intermediate) level is a plus.
