Role Summary and Purpose
The Actuarial Analyst works closely with Senior Actuary. The Actuarial Analyst assists Underwriting Team with analysis and interpretation of numbers and reports.
The Actuarial Analysis is responsible for understanding, maintenance and development of pricing models and the in-house Dashboard MI system (Arch internal database).
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Underwriting/management support
· Provide ad hoc reports or data downloads.
· Explain analytical reports to underwriters/management.
· Assist with the continued evolution of data analytics capability within the product and pricing area to improve business performance.
· Conduct monthly monitoring of portfolio performance report and exception accounts monitoring.
Pricing support
· Development and maintenance of benchmark models (exposure rating).
· Provide support for large account pricing (experience rating).
· Performing Technical Pricing analysis under supervision of the pricing leader.
Reserving support
· Occasionally support Senior Actuary in quarterly reserving.
Management information development/maintenance
· Develop portfolio analysis dashboard in PowerBI or StreamLit.
· Provide dashboard training to users.
General responsibilities:
· Collaborate effectively with other business units.
· Adhere to company’s policies, procedures and local guidance as well as to the legislation.
· Other reasonable duties as directed by the business, within the scope of the role.
Role Requirements & Skills
Skills / Competencies· Good knowledge and efficiency in the use of Microsoft office package, and willingness to develop expertise in Excel (including VBA), SQL and PowerBi become proficient in this area (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python, R, Emblem).
· Ability to solve problems and be inquisitive.
· Ability to work independently efficiently and as part of a team.
· Personable and able to communicate clearly at all levels within the organisation.
· Sound analytical skills with the ability to prioritise while maintaining an attention to detail.
Qualifications· Actuarial bachelor degree or related studies.
· Actuarial student or intending to take Actuarial exams.
Experience- Minimum 1-3 years insurance/Actuarial experience.
- Strong graduates would be considered.
