Advisor, Information Technology (Applications & Database Administrator)

The Advisor, Information Technology (Applications & Database Administrator) is responsible to build, implement, operate, and support application and database environments. Oversee and tune system performance, establish user and database access controls, prevent, monitor, and address security events and lead other IT resources with respect to application, database, and security administration. Position will be working hybrid based in San Juan, PR.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor procedures for the daily operations, such as file transfers and process execution. Gather requirements and assess technical, operational, security, and support impacts during application implementations, enhancements, or changes.
• Enforce change control, audit logging, access management, and operational procedures.
• Plan, coordinate, and support daily operational activities for assigned applications and related processes.
• Create or maintain scripts, reports, or automation to support application operations, monitoring and troubleshooting. Support application-related data validation and basic database inquiries as needed.
• Manage user access, roles, profiles, and application security according to internal policies and audit requirements. Participate in security reviews, evaluations, audits, and risk assessments for supported applications.
• Identify recurring issues, recommend preventive actions, and improve application support procedures.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, runbooks, knowledge documents, and incident notes.
• Work with developers, analysts, vendors, and technical teams to support application changes, enhancements, integrations, and issue resolution.
• Investigate production incidents, identify root cause, coordinate resolution, and document findings.
• Support cloud-related application activities as deployments in AWS cloud and services.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or any other related field required.
• Three (3) years of experience in IT operations, IT applications and security administration required. database administration experience preferred. Banking experience preferred.
• Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish with a demonstrated ability to write communications clearly, concisely, and effectively required.
• Maintain knowledge of supported applications, vendor releases, operational cycles, new features, and business/IT impact. AWS Cloud Practitioner certification preferred.
• Provide after-hours and on-call support for critical production issues when required.
• Knowledge of IT operations, change control, access management, audit logs, and production support.
• Ability to write clear technical documentation, procedures, and incident notes.

• Legally authorized to work in the US is required. This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent or ongoing work authorization.
