And so much more.   Come break through with us.  Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. Scope of Position: The AI/ML Advanced Data Analytics Engineer will be part of a core solution development team working with domain experts, application developers, controls engineers, data engineers and data scientists. Their primary responsibility will be to design and develop solutions to automate data access, data visualization and develop machine learning models. These systems & solutions will span both cloud and on-premises environments and will require close collaboration with many technical teams to ensure success. Responsibilities: <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Develop and implement AI/ML data science methodologies and AI Products that align with business objectives. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Apply data science techniques, such as machine learning, statistical modeling, and artificial intelligence to solve manufacturing and business problems</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Collaborate with data scientists, process engineers, and controls engineers to understand and automate data operations like transformation and normalization. Design monitoring systems to ensure the models perform well. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Generate documentation on data analytics pipelines and processes. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Participate in advanced data analytics COPs (communities of practice) to spread knowledge and drive governance and reusability of data analytics topics.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Leverage tools such as Databricks and AWS Datasync to manage data, build models, and deploy solutions. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Stay abreast of the latest data science and AI/ML trends and technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement. </li> </ul> Education & Experience: Required <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineer or related scientific field is preferred. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">2-4 years of relevant technical experience in a manufacturing environment. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, data analysis, and statistical modeling techniques. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Demonstrated programming proficiency in Python and .NET/C# </li> </ul> Education and Experience: Desired <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Understand concepts of big data engineering, ETL and ELT pipelines for data warehousing, on-premise and cloud data lake environments </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Familiarity with tools such as Databricks and AWS platform services. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Ability to Communicate well with users, other technical team to collect requirements, describe data modeling decisions. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Cultural bias towards continual learning, sharing best practice, encouraging, and elevating less experienced colleagues as they learn </li> </ul> Travel Requirements: <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Domestic travel up to 25%.</li> </ul> Work Schedule: <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Typically, 40 hours/week but could be more depending on project requirements. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Night and/or weekend work is possible. </li> </ul> This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $82,051.00 - $112,821.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
