AI/ML Engineer
Job Description
Are you ready to join the forefront of technology as an AI/ML Engineer in Netcompany?
As an AI/ML Engineer you will:
- Develop, train, deploy, and maintain machine learning and AI solutions focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), generative AI, and other advanced AI use cases.
- Design and implement generative AI solutions, including LLM APIs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and machine learning techniques such as feature selection, classification, and model optimization.
- Research and improve machine translation (MT) quality across supported language pairs by developing evaluation methodologies, conducting targeted studies, and implementing solutions that address customer and service-specific requirements.
- Manage and improve data quality and integrity by defining data rules and controls with data stewards and IT stakeholders, performing data cleansing and validation, and implementing mechanisms to detect and mitigate data and model bias.
- Develop automated anomaly detection and monitoring solutions to continuously assess data and model performance, identify issues, and support timely corrective actions.
- Design and propose technical architectures for NLP, ML, and AI solutions, coordinating implementation with engineering teams while ensuring alignment with data management, master data, metadata, and data architecture principles.
- Implement MLOps and AI governance practices to automate the machine learning lifecycle, including CI/CD, model monitoring, drift detection, retraining, and compliance with data protection and applicable AI Act requirements.
- Communicate technical concepts and drive innovation by producing technical documentation and presentations, collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and staying current with AI/ML research to identify and pilot innovative solutions.
Qualifications
What would make you a fit for the role:
- A University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field and minimum of 8 years of experience
- Strong proficiency in AI/ML programming, particularly Python and R, with hands-on experience using key libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, pandas, spaCy, and NLTK.
- Expertise in machine learning and AI techniques and algorithms, including k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN), Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machines (SVM), Decision Forests, Neural Networks, and related AI frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Generative AI and language models, including Small Language Models (SLMs), Large Language Models (LLMs), and their practical applications.
- Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms and tools for model training and fine-tuning, such as AWS SageMaker and Azure Machine Learning, as well as platforms for developing LLM-based solutions, including AWS Bedrock and Azure AI Studio.
- Good knowledge of LLM application development and orchestration, including frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, and Semantic Kernel, as well as AI agent orchestration, safety mechanisms, and guardrails.
- Strong understanding of data management principles relevant to AI/ML projects, including data governance, data quality, data cleaning, and data lifecycle management.
- Good knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems and software development lifecycles, including Agile methodologies and best practices for developing and maintaining AI solutions.
- Experience with Machine Translation (MT) quality assurance and quality control, including MT testing methodologies, automatic evaluation metrics such as BLEU and related metrics, and human evaluation approaches.
What would be an asset for the role:
- Knowledge of data querying and information extraction, using technologies such as SQL, Hive, and Pig, as well as experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB, Cassandra, and HBase.
- Experience with data analytics and visualization across large-scale datasets, unstructured data, and data lakes, using tools such as D3.js and ggplot.
- Experience in corpus-based linguistics, including corpus analysis, alignment models, and classification methods.
- Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools for model versioning, deployment, monitoring, and governance, including MLflow and Kubeflow.
