Job Description:
Major Accountabilities
- Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned accounts in accordance with Local and Global Accounts
- Reconciliation Guidelines and Standards, ensuring accuracy and completeness of balances prior to submission.
- Identifies reconciling items and potential issues, coordinates with relevant units to resolve variances, and escalates complex or
- aged items to the Manager in a timely manner.
- • Provides accurate financial support schedules and reports for management, internal and external auditors, and regulators, including aging reports, fixed asset schedules, and supporting worksheets for statutory and management reporting.
- Develops a solid understanding of end‑to‑end business processes related to assigned accounts and assists in documenting procedures and control activities.
Education Level and Professional Qualification
Minimum Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate.
• Life insurance industry certifications (e.g., FLMI or equivalent).
Experience
• At least 2–3 years of experience in General Accounting.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Accounts Reconciliation, preferably within a regulated financial services environment.
Technical Skills
• Working knowledge of audit requirements, internal controls, and system-based control environments.
Foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including Canadian, US, and Philippine
standards, as well as applicable local tax rules and regulatory requirements.
•Familiarity with SAP General Ledger and related feeder systems is preferred, including but not limited to Ingenium, FIS, GIS,
and IPAC.
• Demonstrated business acumen in life insurance, pre-need, and wealth management operations.
