Asset Management
A global multi-boutique asset management business offering an extensive range of specialist investment capabilities through seven boutiques and brands in key regions globally. Within Australia, Perpetual and Pendal have a broad range of capabilities across Australian and global equities, credit, fixed income, multi-asset and ESG. We have a growing presence in the US, UK and Europe through our brands Barrow Hanley, Trillium, JO Hambro, Regnan and TSW.
This role sits within the Asset Management Australia Finance team and supports financial control activities across the business. You’ll help ensure financial information is accurate, compliant, and ready for both internal and external reporting, while contributing to continuous improvements across processes and controls.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and broader finance teams, you’ll be involved across month-end, reporting cycles and audit, while developing strong technical accounting capability.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure integrity of financial information, providing quality business finance support
- Contribute to the delivery of financial control activities and quality financial reporting for the Asset Management business and Group as required
- Contribute to the production of high-quality management reports and provide meaningful insights.
- Contribute to half-yearly, annual financial statements and analysis for inclusion in external reports and briefings
- Preparation of company financial statements
- Delivery of month end close in line with close timetable
- Implementation of technical accounting advice from Accounting Technical, Tax and Treasury team
- Implementation of new processes as required
- Involvement in the end-to-end external audit process as required
- Constantly seek to improve processes and controls
- Collaborate with Asset Management Finance team and Group
- Demonstrate an inquiring mind to take the initiative in investigating the figures
About you
- CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards completion
- Experience preparing financial statements and applying accounting standards
- Background in financial services is preferred but not essential
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Solid technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
- Analytical mindset with the confidence to investigate and challenge results
- Able to manage competing deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively
- Clear communicator who can work effectively with a range of stakeholders
