Scope and Responsibilities:

Based in Hyderabad, the Analyst will assist with the execution of key areas of the firm’s compliance program as a generalist within the Enterprise Compliance team. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Compliance, the role focuses on anti-money laundering (AML), anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), and Control Room functions for Oaktree. This role will support compliance oversight for private investment funds and related legal entities domiciled in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory frameworks and internal policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in client onboarding requests, with a focus on maintaining compliance with relevant anti-money laundering regulations and industry best practices for financial crimes compliance.

  • Assist with performing ongoing monitoring, sanctions screening, risk assessments, and periodic investor reviews.

  • Support Control Room operations, including conducting conflict-of-interest checks for transactions and potential investments, maintaining and updating the firm’s restricted and watch lists, and managing the flow of material non-public information (MNPI) across the organization.

  • Partner with deal teams and investment professionals to review proposed transactions against applicable restrictions, assess potential conflicts of interest, and ensure timely escalation and resolution.

  • Support and maintain the firm’s anti-bribery and corruption framework.

  • Provide, organize and execute compliance learning campaigns for Oaktree employees.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g. legal, client services, investment professionals) to ensure compliance requirements are met.

  • Assist in ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 3–5 years of compliance experience preferably with a SEC-registered investment advisor, asset manager, or financial services firm, with a focus on AML, ABC, Control Room operations, and general compliance program support.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Prior experience with sanctions screening tools preferred but not required.
