Description

Clearwave Fiber, a 100% Fiber Optic Internet provider offering business, enterprise, and residential communications services, is expanding its network across the Midwest, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast. Formed from the merger of Point Broadband and Clearwave Fiber, the company is backed by GTCR and Berkshire Partners. Our team of more than 700 colleagues is committed to delivering the most advanced technology and customer service.

Clearwave Fiber is seeking an Analyst / Associate, Corporate Development & Strategic Finance to serve as the analytical engine of the corporate finance team. The role sits directly under the Vice President, Finance and owns the corporate operating model and the analysis that runs on it: the annual plan, reforecasts, monthly variance, cash flow forecasting, and the unit economics behind build and capital decisions. It also supports M&A, financing, and Board and sponsor reporting.

Prior investment banking experience is required. This is a builder’s seat, not a maintenance seat. The finance function is being scaled alongside the business, and the successful candidate will help set the modeling standards, analytical frameworks, and AI-enabled workflows the company runs on. The work moves at transaction pace: output is measured in days rather than weeks, and priorities shift with the deal and reporting calendar. The role can be filled at either the Analyst or Associate level.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Own the corporate operating model, including the scenario layer that supports planning, financing, and transaction analysis.
  • Lead the analytical build of the annual operating plan and quarterly reforecasts, working with department heads to translate operating inputs into a defensible financial plan.
  • Produce monthly variance analysis and the supporting narrative for management, Board, and sponsor reporting.
  • Own cash flow forecasting, including the 13-week forecast and the long-range view that ties to the operating model.
  • Support M&A and corporate development, including target modeling, diligence, synergy analysis, and post-close integration tracking.
  • Prepare analysis and exhibits for Board, sponsor, and lender deliverables, including debt maturity and refinancing analysis and recurring securitization reporting.
  • Partner with construction, sales, operations, and marketing on budgets, business cases, and return analysis.
  • Apply modern AI tooling, including Claude, to accelerate analysis, modeling, and reporting, and help define how the finance team uses it.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior investment banking experience is required. Candidates without investment banking experience will not be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience, the majority of which must be in an investment banking analyst or associate program. Coverage or product experience in telecommunications or infrastructure is directly relevant.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Ability to build and own a clean, well-structured three-statement model from a blank page, and advanced Excel command of large data sets and model architecture that others can follow and audit.
  • Analytical judgment: the ability to identify what actually drives an outcome, pressure-test assumptions, and flag issues rather than reporting numbers without a point of view.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to turn analysis into a concise recommendation for a senior audience.
  • Ability to carry multiple workstreams at pace without loss of accuracy. This is a high-output seat with frequent short-turnaround requests from management, the Board, and sponsors.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity and incomplete information, and the initiative to move work forward without waiting to be directed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Investment banking coverage in telecommunications, infrastructure, or media, or in leveraged finance, project finance, or securitization.
  • Experience at a private equity-backed or capital-intensive business where capital deployment drives returns, including capex pacing and project-level economics.
  • Familiarity with subscriber-based unit economics, cohort analysis, and long-lived asset return frameworks.
  • Exposure to Board, sponsor, or lender reporting.
  • Demonstrated use of modern AI tools such as Claude to accelerate analysis, modeling, or reporting.
