This fast-paced role requires a working understanding of sales and discounts online and a commitment to accuracy in order to best serve Wirecutter readers. Availability to work extended shifts on select days is preferred. This position is an hourly rate contract role.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This role has the potential to be remote.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain deals onsite for our readers: Scan internal and external deal sources to maintain accurate pricing and information on Wirecutter picks.</p> </li> <li> <p>Write and edit deals copy as needed.</p> </li> <li> <p>Update our internal price history documentation.</p> </li> <li> <p>Cover deals events: Be an essential part of how we help readers avoid bad deals and find good ones during large sales events</p> </li> <li> <p>Perform related work as assigned</p> </li> <li> <p>Demonstrate support and understanding of our <a href="https://www.nytco.com/company/mission-and-values/" target="_blank">value of journalistic independence</a> and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.</p> </li> <li> <p>You will report to the Senior Editor, Deals</p> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>A familiarity with the Wirecutter voice and approach to deal coverage, and a passion for our journalistic standards and ethics</p> </li> <li> <p>An analytical mindset and ability to leverage data and SEO resources</p> </li> <li> <p>Must be able to work holidays and weekends during high-volume windows if required.</p> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Copywriting and editing experience</p> </li> <li> <p>Work with a remote team, with an emphasis on internal communications</p> </li> <li> <p>Enjoy helping others</p> </li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">REQ-020111</span></p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">The annual base pay range for this role is between:</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$80,000</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$90,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p>For roles in the U.S., dependent on your role, you may be eligible for variable pay, such as an annual bonus and restricted stock.
