As an Analyst GIS Applications, you will support and enhance geospatial applications and database systems that enable exploration and mining activities across the organization. You will help ensure application functionality, security, and reliability while providing technical support, performing spatial analysis, and delivering valuable geospatial insights to business stakeholders.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of geospatial applications.
- Assist with application configuration and customization to meet business requirements.
- Execute testing and quality assurance activities to ensure system functionality and security.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to application users.
- Gather user feedback and recommend improvements to digital data services.
- Perform spatial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and relationships within geospatial data.
- Develop maps, charts, reports, and visualizations to support business decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
- Proficient supporting GIS, geospatial applications, or related technologies.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow.
- Experience with mining and exploration applications such as Landfolio, ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Vulcan, Deswik, and core logging tools.
- Understanding of ASP.NET, JavaScript, Python, C++, C#, SQL, and Esri APIs.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
- You will collaborate with Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Data & Analytics, Site and Regional IT teams, Exploration, Geology, and third-party vendors.
- The role may require domestic and international travel to mine and exploration sites.
- English proficiency is required, and additional language skills such as Spanish, French, or Dutch are considered an asset.
- The preferred location for candidates is near our corporate headquarters, in Denver, Colorado; however highly qualified candidates near our regional offices, will be considered.
- The listed salary range applies to positions based in Colorado. Compensation may vary for candidates hired in other locations.
- Collaboration and interaction are expected with teams across the global, regional, and site organization as well as across other service and operational areas of Newmont across multiple time zones.
Work Environment, Pay & Benefits:
This position is based in our Denver, CO corporate headquarters, with flexibility for hybrid work. The base salary range is $86,500–$115,300 (reflecting market rates and your qualifications). The final base pay offer will be based on individual factors such as your experience, and skills – we do not ask for or use your prior pay in setting your compensation. You will also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on company and personal performance. Newmont provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, health savings/reimbursement accounts, 401(k), pension, paid time off, and family leave.
