JOB DESCRIPTION Analyst, Project Management   POSITION SUMMARYThe Project Management Analyst will report directly to the Director of Engineering and Continuous Improvement, will play a key role in supporting the planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of capital projects across multiple manufacturing facilities in North America. The successful candidate will work closely with Plant Managers, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and external vendors to ensure projects are properly scoped, financially justified, executed on schedule, and completed within approved budgets. This position requires a highly organized and analytical individual with strong project management skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate and support all phases of Capital projects including planning, execution, tracking, and closeout of capital projects across multiple manufacturing sites Develop and maintain Request for Capital Approval (RCA) documentation, project business cases, and financial justifications Collaborate with Plant Managers, Engineering, Operations, and Finance teams to define project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource requirements. Develop Scope of Work (SOW) documents, obtain vendor quotations, and support project procurement activities. Track project costs, schedules, and performance metrics to identify risks, variances, and potential overruns, and recommend corrective actions. Maintain and update capital expenditure (CapEx) tracking tools and project dashboards to monitor project status, expenditures, forecasts and other Project management KPIs Coordinate with vendors and contractors to obtain quotations, evaluate proposals, and support project implementation activities. Maintain CapEx tracking tools, project schedules, forecasts, and monthly project status reporting. Develop Gantt charts and project plans using MS Project or equivalent software, including critical path and resource planning. Monitor project costs, schedules, risks, and performance to ensure successful execution without budget or timeline overruns Support monthly project reporting, project closure documentation, and benefit realization tracking.  Communicate effectively with Plant management, Finance, Engineering teams and vendors Utilize advanced Excel tools, data analysis techniques, and reporting systems to improve project visibility and decision-making. Support the development of Power BI dashboards and project performance reporting tools. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Finance Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, engineering, manufacturing, operations, or a related field. Experience with PMI concepts is required Prior experience managing or coordinating capital projects is required. Strong understanding of project management principles, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and project controls. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, lookups, complex formulas, dashboard development, and data analysis Experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software for Gantt chart development Experience developing business cases, financial justifications, and capital approval documentation. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Experience with Power BI is considered an asset. PMP certification is considered an asset. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience is considered an asset. Ability to travel occasionally to visit Opta sites within Canada and United States will be required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
