Position Description:
As an Analyst for R&D Support, you will provide critical financial and operational support to Elanco's global R&D and Regulatory functions. In this role, you'll be responsible for advancing our portfolio by integrating project management with key financial services, ensuring the seamless coordination of procurement, budgeting, and reporting. You will partner with a dynamic team to drive efficiency and innovative solutions in a motivating work environment.
Your Responsibilities:
- Execute the end-to-end Source-to-Pay process, including supplier setup, purchase order creation, payment resolution, and urgent payment processing for global R&D and Regulatory functions.
- Manage and forecast discretionary and non-discretionary budgets by analyzing financial data from SAP and Power BI, ensuring accuracy of cost centers, accruals, and variances.
- Serve as a primary technical resource for key systems (SAP, Ariba, Power BI), providing guidance, training, and reporting to business stakeholders to enable effective spend management.
- Drive process improvements by partnering with procurement, finance, and R&D teams to enhance vendor management, invoicing, and financial tracking workflows.
- Support strategic transformation by leading special projects, conducting investigations, and incorporating new technologies like AI to increase efficiency and deliver value.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
- Education: Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in budget management, buying, sourcing, or a related operational function.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
- Proficiency with financial and procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, and Power BI.
- A good understanding of corporate financial reporting and procurement (FRAP) standards.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies and incorporating new technologies like AI.
- Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and training on sourcing, contracting, and purchase-to-pay processes.
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and resolve discrepancies.
