Job Description

ANALYST, REVENUE MANAGEMENT DATA

Victoria

15-month Term

The Opportunity

At BC Ferries, every sailing tells a story — of connection, community, and the movement of people and goods along the coast. Behind every successful journey is data that enables smarter decisions, anticipates demand, optimizes capacity, and enhances the customer experience.

We’re looking for an Analyst, Revenue Management Data to join our Strategy & Planning team; someone who thrives on transforming complex data into meaningful insights that inform and influence operational and business decisions across the organization. In this role, you will partner closely with business teams to analyze and interpret traffic and performance data across areas such as demand, capacity, scheduling, pricing, inventory, revenue, forecasting, customer segmentation, and overall business performance. You will take ownership of analysis from data extraction through to insight delivery, helping shape how decisions are made across the business.

If you’re energized by identifying trends, uncovering patterns, building scalable reporting solutions, and delivering insights that influence decisions, this could be your next great opportunity.

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Traffic & Analytics, you will add value and be energized by key areas of responsibility such as:

  • Delivering data-driven insights and recommendations that inform operational and strategic decision-making
  • Interpreting financial and operational performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Leading analysis and supporting initiatives across Strategy & Planning, including investigations, reporting enhancements, and testing
  • Partnering with Tariff and Revenue teams to understand priorities and develop actionable metrics and insights
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining dashboards and scalable analytics solutions for business leaders
  • Building and maintaining relational data models and reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI, Python, and Oracle
  • Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and governance, including supporting validation, audit, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to improve data collection, analysis methods, and reporting tools
  • Applying best practices in analytics and data management to enhance overall decision-making capabilities
  • Compiling and analyzing traffic data to meet internal, external, and legislative reporting requirements

You will operate with a high degree of independence, owning your analyses end-to-end while collaborating closely with stakeholders across Finance, Strategy & Planning, and operational teams.

What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in a data-focused analytical role, ideally within a complex or operationally driven industry
  • Proven experience working independently to transform data into actionable business insights
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets
  • Experience building dashboards, data models, and reporting solutions
  • Working knowledge of revenue management concepts, including demand, pricing, forecasting, inventory, and segmentation
  • Proficiency with tools such as Power BI, Python, Oracle, or similar analytics platforms
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to present insights and influence decisions
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with curiosity and a willingness to experiment and refine approaches
