The Actuarial Analyst III supports actuarial projection models used in American National's retail annuity business. This role contributes to new business modeling in Python, FABN projections, and Retail Annuities Plan Projection initiatives that support corporate planning and financial forecasting. This position is ideal for candidates with 2โ4 years of actuarial experience who are analytical, detail-oriented, and interested in applying technology to actuarial modeling and forecasting challenges. The role offers exposure to actuarial projection modeling, corporate planning, and Statutory and GAAP financial reporting frameworks.
What You'll Do
Support the development, maintenance, and testing of Python-based models used for retail annuity projections.
Assist with FABN projection processes, including model updates, validation, and analysis of projected results.
Contribute to Retail Annuities Plan Projections, reforecasts, and sensitivity analyses.
Analyze projection results and communicate key drivers, trends, and business insights.
Partner with actuarial, finance, and business teams to support modeling and forecasting initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve and automate actuarial processes and reporting.
Maintain progress toward actuarial credentials through examination and professional development.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
2โ4 years of actuarial experience, preferably within life insurance or annuities.
Completion of 1โ3 SOA exams with continued progress toward actuarial credentials.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Excel and experience with Python or other analytical tools.
Familiarity with SQL, actuarial modeling platforms, or financial forecasting tools is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
