Application Support Analyst
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain critical OT systems, including NMS and SCADA, ensuring the system availability, reliability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, integration, and operational technology issues within the OT systems.
- Support, maintain, and develop custom interfaces between the OT systems and ESB and third-party systems, ensuring the effective integration and exchange of operational data.
- Support, maintain, and enhance custom NMS reporting functionality to meet operational and business reporting requirements.
- Perform data maintenance activities, including data housekeeping, validation, and data refreshes across OT environments.
- Delivery of enhancement projects for the existing OT systems, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic objectives.
- Work with OT system vendors to ensure issue resolution, review and approve change requests, guide the implementation of new functionality, and coordinate effectively with vendor support teams to ensure systems remain stable, secure, and aligned with operational and business requirements
- Support the delivery of new projects including system upgrades and problem resolution activities.
- Support testing activities, including system, integration, user acceptance, and regression testing for upgrades, enhancements, and new functionality.
- Work closely with the wider OSS team, OT Delivery, Enterprise Services, the OT vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure the successful operation and continuous improvement of critical real-time operational systems.
- Work closely with other areas of the business to understand operational requirements, address system issues, and deliver effective technology solutions.
- Maintain regular engagement and communication with team members, business stakeholders, vendors, and support teams to ensure effective service delivery and project execution.
- Support the ongoing development and optimisation of advanced DMS applications, including Power Flow, Network Optimisation, Load Forecasting, FLISR, and DERMS capabilities.
- Support knowledge management and capability development including producing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation, standard operating procedures, configuration records, user guides, and operational runbooks to support effective system operation and support
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior team members, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technical skill development.
Qualifications
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline
- Proven ability to support, maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical IT/OT systems with high availability and resilience requirements.
- Excellent Unix/Linux administration and shell scripting capabilities (Bash, KSH).
- Excellent SQL querying, database analysis, and PL/SQL programming skills.
- Experience in Python programming.
- Experience developing and maintaining system integrations and custom interfaces.
- Strong data management skills, including validation, cleansing, transformation, and maintenance activities.
- Ability to investigate complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Experience supporting testing activities, including System Testing, Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and Regression Testing.
- Ability to produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, operational procedures, and support documentation.
- Experience supporting system enhancements, upgrades, and project delivery activities.
- Ability to supervise, mentor, coach, and technically develop junior team members.
- Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the team.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance during problem-solving and project delivery activities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience working with SCADA and NMS or similar OT systems
- Experience working with Electrical Utility Network Data Models
- Experience is software development, programming and scripting
