Title: AR Chargeback Analyst
Salary Range: 55k-65k
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
The AR Chargeback Analyst is responsible for analyzing, disputing, and resolving customer chargebacks, deductions, and compliance violations from wholesale accounts. This role partners closely with Sales, Finance, and Operations to identify root causes, recover revenue, and improve operational processes that reduce future deductions.
- Review, validate, and process retailer chargebacks, deductions, and claims.
- Research discrepancies related to pricing, shortages, routing compliance, EDI transactions, freight, returns, and promotional allowances.
- Prepare and submit dispute documentation to recover invalid deductions.
- Monitor aging reports and ensure timely resolution of outstanding deductions.
- Analyze chargeback trends and identify recurring issues affecting profitability.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve root causes and improve compliance.
- Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate deduction records.
- Ensure compliance with retailer vendor guidelines and routing requirements.
- Generate reports on chargeback recovery, deduction trends, and key performance metrics.
- Support month-end close activities by reconciling outstanding deductions.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce future chargebacks and increase recovery rates.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in wholesale deductions, chargebacks, accounts receivable, or financial analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas).
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or NetSuite.
- Familiarity with EDI transactions (e.g., 810, 850, 855, 856, 820) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of retailer compliance programs and vendor chargeback policies.
- Understanding of accounts receivable and deduction management processes.
- Experience analyzing data and preparing reports.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Experience with deduction management software or customer portals.
