Architect Engineer Analyst
Overview
The Architect Engineer Analyst plays a key role in sustaining the integrity, alignment, and completeness of all architecture artifacts for VA EISS and integrated systems; provides crossācutting architectural and engineering support for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Product Delivery Services (PDS), Benefits and Memorials (BAM), Memorial and Benefit Services (MBS) deliver secure, reliable, and effective Information Technology (IT) solutions that support the Departmentās mission.
Responsibilities
- Maintains architectural documentation, supports compliance with VA architecture standards, ensures traceability across systems, services, and data, and assists Product and Portfolio teams with backlog management for architectureārelated requirements
- Maintain and update architectural documentation across all required Enterprise Architecture domains (Strategy, Data & Information, Business, Systems & Application, Network & Infrastructure, Security).
- Support architecture compliance, traceability, and alignment with VA EA, ASG (Architecture Style Guide), BIP architecture, and productālevel documentation requirements.
- Assist with backlog management for architecture/platform requirements, including configuration of environments and prioritization of architectural work items.
- Ensure documentation reflects updates to system functionality, integrations, dependencies, and technical changes across Sprints and PIs.
- Contribute to the development, peer review, and maintenance of Data Models, Data Dictionaries, and architecture artifacts delivered throughout the SDLC.
- Support Product teams in satisfying architectural, functional, nonāfunctional, compliance, and legacy product architecture requirements
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and evolution of enterprise architecture, tenant architecture, designs, and strategies over the course of Sprints and PIs.
- Participate in solutioning activities, support Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), and help ensure reusable architectural patterns and modular design principles are applied.
- Provide support documenting inputs needed for VASI, ATO, Section 508, ZeroāTrust Architecture, and other compliance frameworks through proper architecture artifact updates.

Qualifications
Required:
Ā
- Bachelorās Degree in computer science or an IT-related degree with 7-10 years' experience
- Experience maintaining architecture documentation across multiple domains (data, business).
- Experience supporting SDLC and Agile/Scrum processes, including artifact updates across Sprints and Program Increments.
- Experience supporting ATO, compliance, architectural review, and adherence to federal standards (NIST, VA EA, ASG).
- Experience collaborating with product teams, system teams, and engineers to ensure architectural consistency and alignment
- Public Trust

- Use of DMS, GoldenGate, Glue, Liquibase/Flyway; VA data architecture.
