Portfolio Management is primarily responsible for managing PG&amp;E's wholesale electric portfolio in order to meet PG&amp;E's electric load obligations in a reliable, economic manner. This responsibility includes: (1) determining the Company's long-, intermediate-, short-term Resource Adequacy (RA) capacity, Energy, Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR) and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) compliance product needs; (2) developing strategies to meet those needs; (3) amending, modifying, and terminating agreements as necessary to maintain PG&amp;E's electric portfolio; (4) complying with sales/procurement, including Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) credit sales and reporting requirements; and (5) supporting the development of energy policy with the objective of implementing such policy at the least cost and ensuring compatibility with the supply/demand portfolio.</span></p> <p> </p> <h1><span style="">Position Summary</span></h1> <p><span style="">The Associate Analyst position in Portfolio Management is anticipated to perform portfolio analysis to support managing PG&amp;E’s commercial activities involving RA, Energy, CRR, GHG, and LCFS procurement and support various compliance reporting obligations to the CPUC, CEC, CARB, and CAISO. This position is expected to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to perform detailed analyses on one or more relevant compliance or procurement topics. Commercial activities must be managed to ensure that sales/procurement meets various regulatory requirements at reasonable costs. The position may be required to fulfill other duties as appropriate to any portion of the overall department.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="">This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The work location is Oakland, CA. </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="">PG&amp;E is providing the salary/pay range for this position.  The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.  <strong>The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum to the midpoint of the range.  The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above.</strong> This job is also eligible to participate in PG&amp;E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="">The hourly rate for this position ranges from $39.42 to $49.51.</span></p> <p> </p> <h1><span style="">Job Responsibilities</span></h1> <ul> <li style=""><span style=""><strong> </strong>Support critical compliance reporting efforts such as the Annual and Monthly Resource Adequacy Compliance Filing</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Contribute to critical compliance and accounting reporting efforts for Resource Adequacy</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Contribute to development of Commission advice letter</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Support strategy development and execution in commercial activities</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Ability to articulate findings in written and verbal form to internal and external audiences.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Support continuous improvement processes</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Design, implement, and support a platform in providing access to large datasets</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Researches and communicates regulatory or policy issues</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Participate in PG&amp;E management and regulatory approval process for specific transactions.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <h1><span style="">Qualifications</span></h1> <p><span style=""><strong>Minimum:</strong></span></p> </div> <ul> <li style=""><span style="">Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in a business-related field, mathematics, engineering; or equivalent field of study</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <h1><span style="">Desired:</span></h1> <ul> <li style=""><span style="">Knowledge of wholesale energy markets, power/gas products, CAISO processes, energy trading, and regulations</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Familiarity with supply and demand side electricity markets including nuclear, hydro, fossil, solar, wind, energy storage, QF/CHP, biomass, GHG emissions and offsets, energy efficiency, demand response, and/or distributed generation</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Experience with any/all the following activities:◦Perform cost, benefit, and risk analysis at the individual and the portfolio asset levels</span> <ul> <li style=""><span style="">Analyzing natural gas or electricity prices;</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Developing analytics for optimizing operations in natural gas or electricity businesses;</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Researching and applying quantitative techniques in dealing with issues in natural gas or electricity businesses;</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">ISO/RTO/Balancing authority market issues;</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Understanding of supply stack and loading order;</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Electric Utility operations;</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Market and credit risk management;</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Utility revenue requirement and rate-making processes; or</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Physical, financial and real options and derivatives</span></li> </ul> </li> <li style=""><span style="">Advanced skill with MS Office Suite</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Programming capability, particularly in Python or VBA</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Experience with BI tools and Analytics Technologies (e.g. PowerBI preferred, Tableau, Looker)</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Interpret and explain the analytical results to technical and non-technical audiences using data visualization and effective communication techniques.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Self-directed, collaborator, with ability to aim to high quality results consistently and on a timely basis.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Familiarity of the regulatory environment in California including CPUC, CAISO, CARB, and CEC regulations</span></li> </ul>
