This role contributes to Ciena’s Services Business Intelligence & Data Science team by delivering reporting and analytics solutions that provide visibility across the full services lifecycle. The position supports the evolution from operational reporting to advanced analytics, enabling informed business decision-making. The role collaborates with business and IT stakeholders to design and deploy scalable business intelligence solutions.
How you will make an impact:
  • Design and develop reporting architectures, including report user interfaces and data models, to optimise performance and integration
  • Analyze and document business requirements to support solution design and delivery
  • Deliver reporting for operational and business metrics to provide visibility into performance against KPIs
  • Participate in project planning to align system design with business and technical requirements
  • Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve data and reporting issues
  • Evaluate and demonstrate proof of concepts for new BI and analytics tools
The must haves:
  • Education: Degree in Finance, Commerce, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience
  • Application of Power BI and SQL in reporting and analytics solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work independently and establish functional objectives
  • Application of communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills in stakeholder-facing environments
  • Ability to coordinate tasks across team members to achieve business outcomes
  • Application of attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and completeness
