Role Overview We are hiring a Director to lead catalog quality and audit operations across a scraper-populated catalog spanning a large brand portfolio. This leader will own a team of over 400 people. Organization – multiple layers of management – and will be accountable for the operational rigor, and ground-truth measurement systems that govern catalog. Correctness at scale. They will partner closely with multiple internal stakeholders including Operations, Product, Engineering, and senior leadership to convert data – quality signals into structural improvement upstream and will be a peer – level voice in shaping the broader catalog organization’s roadmap. This role is for leader who thinks like a statistician and operates like a CEO of their function: comfortable defending sampling design and precision/recall trade-offs to senior leadership, building managers of managers, and writing tenets that hold across years rather than quarters.  What You Will Do Catalog Quality & Audit <ul> <li>Own end-to-end design and execution of catalog audit programs across MPN validation, duplicate detection, and attribute correctness.</li> <li>Define operational metrics (precision, recall, F1) and AQL thresholds; defend the choices to senior leadership.</li> <li>Lead brand-stratified sampling design with appropriate finite population correction.</li> <li>Resist false confidence from early correct results — scraper-driven errors cluster by</li> <li>Drive ground-truth resolution before launch: unit of identity, MPN vs. barcode, whether harm is measurable.</li> </ul> Operations & People Leadership <ul> <li>Lead a 400+ person organization through 4–7 Senior Manager direct reports, each owning a sub-function (audit, validation, remediation, vendor ops, program management).</li> <li>Build the management bench. Hire, develop, and calibrate managers of managers.</li> <li>Own succession planning two layers down.</li> <li>Build AHT and capacity-planning models that tie headcount to defect throughput and program SLAs across geographies and vendor partners.</li> <li>Coach senior managers on span-of-control discipline, structured documentation, and decision-ready writing.</li> <li>Run a review cadence that surfaces defect taxonomies and routes them into Engineering and PM roadmaps.</li> <li>Codify operational principles as tenets — durable artifacts senior leadership can rely on.</li> </ul> Cross-Functional Partnership <ul> <li>Represent Catalog Ops in senior leadership reviews. Produce decision-ready memos and rationale documents.</li> <li>Translate operational signals into engineering priorities (e.g., brand-correlated defect spikes traced to shared scraper logic).</li> <li>Contribute to org design, escalation paths, and accountability structures across the broader catalog organization.</li> </ul> Basic Qualifications <ul> <li>15+ years of operations experience, with 7+ years managing managers and at least 3 years leading organizations of 200+.</li> <li>Demonstrated ownership of large-scale data-quality or catalog programs in e-commerce, marketplace, or equivalent environments.</li> <li>Working fluency in statistical sampling: AQL, c=0 acceptance sampling, precision/recall, finite population correction.</li> <li>Track record of producing structured documents for senior leadership — tenets, rationale memos, audit frameworks — that influence cross-functional decisions.</li> <li>Strong PRD discipline: able to specify requirements without overstepping into engineering ownership.</li> <li>Experience scaling teams across multiple geographies, vendor partners, and BPO</li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul> <li>Background in scraper-populated or third-party-sourced catalogs.</li> <li>Experience with brand-stratified or hierarchical audit design.</li> <li>Prior work on duplicate detection, taxonomy/categorization, or attribute-extraction</li>
