Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst plays a key role in transforming data into actionable business insights that drive commercial performance and strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Business Unit leaders to provide data-driven insights that support commercial performance and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with business acumen and can effectively translate complex data into meaningful recommendations for stakeholders. This position requires experience working with enterprise data environments, developing reporting solutions, and performing data analysis using modern analytics tools.

Responsibilities

Reporting & Dashboard Development

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
  • Create scalable reporting solutions that provide visibility into key business performance metrics.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business definitions.
  • Support recurring business reviews and executive reporting processes.

Business Analysis & Insights

  • Conduct ad hoc and strategic analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and business risks.
  • Analyze sales, marketing, customer, product, and market data to support decision-making.
  • Translate business questions into analytical approaches and actionable recommendations.
  • Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand analytics needs.
  • Partner Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Business Unit leaders.
  • Gather requirements and translate business needs into reporting and analytical solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.

Data Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data.
  • Work with enterprise data platforms and data engineering teams to support reporting needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytical capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of reporting standards, documentation, and best practices.

Qualifications

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, reporting, or a related role.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI or similar visualization tools.
  • Experience working with modern cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience applying market, customer, competitive, or commercial insights to business decision-making is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
  • Experience with Python, R, or other analytical programming languages.
  • Experience working within life sciences, healthcare, technology, or other B2B commercial environments.
