BI Engineer

Develop, migrate, deploy, and maintain data-driven insights and knowledge engine interfaces that drive adoption and decision making. Integrate security and data privacy protection.

Job Summary The Power BI Tech Lead will drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-performing business intelligence solutions using Power BI. This role combines technical leadership, hands-on development, and cross-functional collaboration to transform data into strategic insights. The Tech Lead will also progressively expand into PowerApps and Power Automate to support broader Power Platform adoption. Key Responsibilities • Architecture & Development: Lead the creation and optimization of Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic data models using DAX, Power Query, and SQL. • Data Strategy: Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions, ensuring data accuracy, performance, and usability. • Team Leadership: Mentor junior BI developers and analysts, review outputs, and enforce coding standards. • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business users, data engineers, and product owners to align solutions with business goals. • Platform Integration: Support deployment and integration with Dataverse, Azure, and other Power Platform connectors. • Process Automation: Engage in training and development to take on responsibilities involving PowerApps and Power Automate. • Continuous Improvement: Champion design maturity, reusable templates, and UI/UX standards across BI deliverables. Qualifications • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development (data modeling, DAX, Power Query, visualization). • Experience leading BI or data-centric projects, including technical design and team guidance. • Strong understanding of data warehousing, SQL, and business data concepts. • Familiarity with PowerApps, Power Automate, and Microsoft365 ecosystem. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. • Passion for learning and expanding into low-code platforms. Nice to Have • Exposure to Azure Synapse, Data Factory, or other Power Platform connectors. • Experience with app development principles or low-code platforms. • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or equivalent.
