Job Description

The Business Analyst (BA) for the Integrations team plays a critical role in translating business and partner needs into functional and technical requirements for isolved's integration ecosystem. Working closely with Product Managers, software engineers, and UX, the BA contributes to feature discovery, writes detailed user stories for API- and webhook-driven workflows, and ensures clarity across the development lifecycle. This role requires a solid technical foundation - comfort with APIs, webhooks, Postman, and data mapping is essential - and is well suited for individuals who are eager to learn, contribute meaningfully, and pursue ongoing professional growth.

 

Core Job Duties

  • Translate integration and partner requirements into user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria
  • Use GenAI tools to accelerate requirements, diagram data/API flows, or suggest prototypes
  • Collaborate with integration engineering and design daily during refinement and sprint planning
  • Review and validate API/webhook payloads, endpoints, and authentication flows using Postman or similar tools
  • Document data mapping between isolved and third-party/partner systems
  • Write and maintain documentation (API specs, test cases, release notes, etc.)
  • Understand and address escalated integration tickets and support issues as needed, partnering with engineering to troubleshoot data or connectivity issues
  • Partner with Senior BAs, Associate Product Managers, and Group Product Managers to shape integrations backlog content
  • Be a flexible and supportive team member, assisting with other responsibilities as they arise

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ yrs of business experience related to payroll, other HCM services, or technical integrations
  • Associate's degree or equivalent business experience
  • Working understanding of APIs and webhooks (REST and GraphQL concepts, request/response structures, authentication methods)
  • Hands-on experience with Postman or similar tools for testing and validating API calls
  • Familiarity with data integration concepts - field mapping, data transformation, file-based and real-time integration patterns
  • Understanding of how SSO (Single Sign-On) works (e.g., SAML, OAuth/OIDC) is a strong nice-to-have
  • Familiarity with Figma, ADO, JIRA, etc.
  • Ability to write effective AI prompts (e.g., to draft flows or specs)
  • Understanding of agile software development and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong technical aptitude and capabilities
  • Proven ability to document project specifications and test cases with great detail
  • Self-starter and proactive communicator with strong ability to work independently
