  • Role grade: Health Services Manager Grade Level 3

  • Salary:  $132,236.00 - $150,222.00 +super +salary packaging

Better and fairer care.  Always.

We are St Vincent’s Health Australia, Australia’s largest not-for-profit provider of health and aged care services.

Founded by The Sisters of Charity in 1857, our +30,000 healthcare superheroes operate public and private hospitals, residential aged care, community and virtual care, and outreach programs.

About the role

Join the Decision Support & Insights (DSI) team and help shape how St Vincent's Health Network Sydney uses data to drive clinical, operational and strategic decision-making. As our Business Analyst, you will:

  • Deliver Analytical Solutions: Design and build dashboards, ad hoc analyses and reports using Power BI that translate complex healthcare data into decision-ready insights for clinical and executive audiences.

  • Drive Automation & Innovation: Identify and implement opportunities to automate processes using Power Automate and AI-assisted approaches.

  • Bridge Business and Data: Elicit requirements from clinical, operational and corporate stakeholders, document business processes and translate needs into fit-for-purpose analytical and technical solutions.

  • Impact Patient Care: Support priority projects and business cases where analytical outputs directly shape patient care, clinical quality and service improvement.

  • Strengthen Data Culture: Build analytical capability across the Network through end-user training, documentation and knowledge-sharing as the organisation prepares for a major digital transformation.

About you

You're a practical problem-solver with strong technical foundations who can move confidently between stakeholder conversations and hands-on analytical work. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Formal qualifications in business analysis, information systems, data science, health informatics, statistics or a related discipline — or equivalent demonstrated experience in an analytical role.

  • Demonstrated experience performing data analysis and ETL processes using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python or R, with the ability to work across complex datasets — ideally in a healthcare context.

  • High proficiency in Power BI and DAX, with experience designing reproducible, well-documented dashboards and analytical products that support evidence-informed decision-making.

  • Proven ability to elicit business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and deliver solutions end-to-end — including testing, documentation and stakeholder training across concurrent priorities.

  • A self-directed learner who can pick up unfamiliar tools, datasets and domain knowledge rapidly, and shift comfortably between project work and urgent ad hoc requests as priorities shift.
