About the Role 

You are a resourceful, analytical, and execution-oriented professional who knows how to move work forward. With 2–3+ years of experience in a fund manager or corporate/securities law firm environment, you bring exposure to transaction execution, legal, compliance, or fund operations.


You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, comfortable navigating ambiguity, coordinating across teams and external counsel, and figuring out what needs to happen next. You are also highly proficient with AI and technology, using tools to work smarter, streamline processes, and drive efficiency in a fast-paced environment.


Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid / preferred), Remote for right candidate


Key Responsibilities 

Transaction Execution & Investment Operations 

  • Support the execution of private market investment transactions across funds, SPVs, and other investment structures, and closings. 
  • Coordinate transaction workflows, documentation, approvals, signatures, closing requirements, and post-closing deliverables. 
  • Support subscription agreements, side letters, investor materials, closing documentation, and related transaction records. 
  • Partner with internal teams and external counsel to identify outstanding requirements and keep transactions moving toward completion.


Legal & Compliance Support 

  • Support legal and compliance requirements across Canadian and U.S. operations. 
  • Assist with regulatory filings and requirements, as applicable. 
  • Coordinate AML/KYC documentation and compliance processes. 
  • Conduct legal, regulatory, and business research to support internal decision-making. 
  • Coordinate with external counsel and other advisors to ensure information, documentation, and deliverables are provided efficiently. 


Business Analysis & Process Improvement 

  • Analyze existing legal, compliance, transaction, and operational workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Translate legal and compliance requirements into clear business processes, workflows, trackers, and documentation. 
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, templates, reporting tools, and internal documentation. 
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve how information and documentation move between teams.


AI & Technology Enablement 

  • Use AI tools to improve research, document review, information synthesis, workflow management, and administrative efficiency. 
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate AI and automation into recurring legal, compliance, and transaction processes. 
  • Demonstrate strong judgment regarding the appropriate use of AI when working with confidential, legal, regulatory, or sensitive information. 


Qualifications 

  • 2–3+ years of relevant experience with a fund manager, private markets investment firm, asset manager, or corporate/securities law firm. 
  • Experience supporting investment transactions, fund operations, securities matters, legal operations, compliance, or a combination thereof. 
  • Understanding of transaction execution and manage multiple work streams.
  • Familiarity with private funds, SPVs, subscription processes, investor onboarding, and/or securities regulatory requirements is strongly preferred. 
  • Exposure to U.S. and/or Canadian securities regulation is an asset. 
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret requirements, organize complex information, and translate it into actionable next steps. 
  • Can working independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with AI tools and demonstrated ability to incorporate AI.


Contract Details 

  • Term: Anticipated through December 2026 
  • Hours: Approx. 20 hours per week 
  • Annualized equivalent: $40,000–$50,000 CAD depending on hours and experience.
