We are seeking a highly motivated Business Intelligence Analyst to join our high-performing Action Lab team. Every day you will make a difference in the lives of others by engaging with Action Lab, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate and timely data solutions. You will translate business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI data products, and have knowledge and understanding of BI tool architectures, functions, and features. In addition, you will communicate complex, conceptual and technical concepts to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences in writing and orally.

NOTE: This is an in-person, hybrid position. Must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale AZ.

Essential Duties:

  • Receives report requests, evaluates requirements, and recommends existing or new solutions.

  • Creates reports and data products.

  • Assists customers with information needs through understanding of data and metadata content.

  • Elicits requirements using interviews, requirements meetings, surveys, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.

  • Assists with prototype creation; coordinates prototype reviews.

  • Works with developers/architects to translate requirements into a technical solution.

  • Assists with creating and delivering end user training and documentation.

  • Works closely and cooperatively with development teams on product design; makes recommendations for change to enhance support and usability.

  • Participates in system administration functions including, but not limited to data validation processes, resolution process duplication, system change requests, and system integration/user acceptance testing to ensure ongoing integrity and security of data consistent with university policies and procedures.

  • Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.

NOTE: This is an in-person, hybrid position. You must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale AZ.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.

  • Experience translating business questions and requirements into reports, views and BI data products; experience with Tableau is a plus.

  • Experience working in higher education.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Business Intelligence tool architectures, functions, and features.

  • Experience with SQL and relational and multidimensional designs; experience with DBT a plus.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques to develop queries for reporting and analysis.

  • Demonstrated skill communicating complex, conceptual and technical concepts to a variety of audiences both in writing and orally.

  • Proven ability to work both independently and in collaboration with a variety of individuals.

  • Experience enriching data.

  • Experience managing the data request lifecycle.

Salary & Benefits:

$70,000 – 80,000 per year; DOE
