Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst
Job Description
The BI Analyst partners with Actuaries to identify reporting priorities driven by actuarial models. In this role, you will leverage business intelligence and analytical expertise to develop new reports and enhance existing reporting solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with actuarial teams to design and deliver actionable reporting solutions
- Develop and enhance reports using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform tools for data analysis and visualization, and maintain comprehensive semantic models within Power BI
- Build, configure, and maintain automated testing workflows within cloud environments
- Create and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for reporting solutions, leveraging Git-based workflows
- Perform regular validation of report outputs in partnership with QA teams
- Produce and maintain clear documentation for internal use and UAT
- Partner with data engineering teams to improve reporting data models and architecture
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders; implement reporting standards and align practices with governance and compliance requirements in partnership with IT teams
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience developing reports in Power BI
- 5+ years of experience building reports and dashboards using visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, QlikView, Tableau)
- Experience supporting analytics or actuarial functions, preferably within an insurance environment
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Commitment to continuous learning and exploration of emerging tools and technologies
- Ability to leverage data to drive business insights and decision-making
- Familiarity with SQL, Snowflake, or Python is a plus
- Familiarity with Streamlit or Sigma is a plus
