Job Summary
The Business Intelligence Database Administrator is responsible for monitoring and administering the underlying SQL Servers that support the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This position requires the ability to secure and optimize SQL Server performance, develop ETL processes to move data from various sources and targets, and support and develop reporting in Power BI and SSRS as needed to support the overall team. This position will interact and work extensively within the Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence stack including SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and document business reporting requirements and identify the appropriate reporting mechanism that can meet those requirements.
- Work with the Business Intelligence Architect to design appropriate solutions to ensure that systems can meet stakeholder expectations.
- Create functional requirements and design documents to ensure business requirements are accurately recorded.
- Continually strive to improve the efficiency and usability of our BI solutions and other systems by leveraging ongoing research and understanding of business needs.
- Assist other developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing business intelligence solutions.
- Provide expertise and support to end users and other members of the IT support team.
- Conduct research on emerging development tools and strategies.
- Work with all levels of business both verbally and in writing to determine business needs and how to address them with business intelligence tools and platforms.
- Work with Business Intelligence Architect to create models within the data warehouse and/or changes to existing data stores.
- Design and manage data warehouse improvement and growth projects.
- Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues, and work to ensure data consistency and integrity.
- Diagnose and resolve data warehouse access and performance issues.
- Execute data warehouse configuration and performance tuning.
- Monitor system details within the data warehouse, including stored procedures, indexes, partitions, query execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Work closely with Information Security team to ensure that appropriate measure are being taken to secure data.

Industry and Work Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with SQL Server versions 2016 or above components including integration services, reporting services (Native Mode), and index creation and management required.
Academic
- Bachelor's degree required.
