Position Summary

As our Business Intelligence Lead, you will define the vision, architecture, and strategy for enterprise Business Intelligence and self-service analytics while helping modernize our analytics platform through Power BI, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, Databricks, and modern cloud technologies. You will establish the governance, security, engineering practices, and scalable architecture that will support the next generation of analytics and AI-enabled decision making.
This role is more than leading Business Intelligence—it is about building a data-driven culture. You will champion enterprise self-service analytics, empower business users with trusted and governed data, and serve as Penn Foster Group's thought leader for Business Intelligence, analytics innovation, and data strategy. A key measure of success will be increasing enterprise adoption of self-service analytics while significantly reducing manual and ad hoc reporting requests.
Working closely with executive leadership, Product Management, Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and business stakeholders, you will shape Penn Foster Group's technology vision while mentoring and developing the next generation of Business Intelligence professionals.

Key Responsibilities
Business Intelligence Strategy & Self-Service Analytics
Lead the enterprise Business Intelligence strategy, architecture, and roadmap with a focus on expanding self-service analytics capabilities.
Champion adoption of self-service analytics by establishing governance, certified datasets, reusable semantic models, and enterprise reporting standards.
Develop and execute an enterprise adoption strategy that empowers business users to independently access trusted data and insights while reducing reliance on manual reporting and ad hoc requests.
Serve as Penn Foster Group's Business Intelligence thought leader by evaluating emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and industry best practices.
Establish KPIs that measure self-service adoption, platform utilization, analytics maturity, and business value.
Enterprise BI Architecture & Engineering
Architect and implement enterprise Business Intelligence solutions using Power BI, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, and Databricks.
Design scalable semantic models, enterprise data models, and governed reporting solutions supporting self-service analytics.
Define enterprise standards for architecture, security, governance, visualization, and performance optimization.
Serve as the Business Intelligence subject matter expert for the organization's Databricks Lakehouse platform, partnering with Data Engineering to deliver modern analytics solutions.
Design and implement enterprise security utilizing Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), and governance best practices.
Partner with Data Engineering to optimize ETL/ELT processes, curated datasets, and enterprise reporting models.
Lead modernization initiatives including migration from legacy reporting platforms and adoption of emerging cloud and AI technologies.
Engineering Excellence & Delivery
Establish DevOps and CI/CD standards utilizing Azure DevOps, Git, source control, automated deployments, and release management.
Lead Business Intelligence initiatives within a fast-paced Agile environment using Jira and Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Mentor and develop Business Intelligence Analysts and Developers through technical leadership, architecture reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align analytics initiatives with strategic business priorities.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, or Enterprise Reporting.
Minimum 3 years of technical leadership experience leading enterprise Business Intelligence initiatives or teams.
Technical Expertise
Expert-level experience with:
Microsoft Power BI
Tableau
SAP BusinessObjects
Databricks (Delta Lake, SQL Warehouses, Unity Catalog, Lakehouse Architecture)
SQL, enterprise data modeling, semantic modeling, and data warehousing
Business Intelligence architecture, governance, and enterprise security (RLS/OLS)
ETL/ELT processes and cloud analytics platforms
Azure DevOps, Git, DevOps, and CI/CD pipeline implementation
Performance optimization for enterprise reporting solutions
Leadership & Business Skills
Proven success implementing enterprise self-service analytics programs that drive adoption and reduce manual reporting.
Demonstrated experience leading organizational change and championing a data-driven culture.
Experience establishing Business Intelligence governance, Centers of Excellence, and enterprise best practices.
Demonstrated success mentoring Business Intelligence Analysts and technical teams.
Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment using Jira and modern Scrum practices.
Exceptional communication, collaboration, strategic thinking, and executive presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field.
Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau, Databricks, or SAP BusinessObjects certifications.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, or other modern cloud data governance and analytics platforms.

Building and mentoring a high-performing Business Intelligence team while fostering technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Work Environment & Hiring Requirements
