The Business Process Analyst 2 sets up and manages client accounts and customer master data across billing and revenue recognition systems, ensuring services and rates are configured accurately according to contract terms. This role supports new billing implementations, modifications to existing customers and contracts, accurate invoicing, and the company’s broader Order-to-Cash processes.
You’ll interpret contracts, analyze data, manage rate updates such as CPI increases, and collaborate across teams to resolve requirements and complete customer implementations. This is a remote role with flexible regular business hours and up to 10% travel if business needs require it.
What you’ll do
- Configure and onboard customers in billing systems accurately and on time.
- Review and interpret customer contracts to determine billing requirements, services, and rates.
- Analyze CPI increases and update customer rates accordingly.
- Help ensure customers are not overbilled, underbilled, or missing contracted services.
- Collaborate with Client Service Managers, IT, Product, Billing, senior management, and other business partners to resolve client issues, billing data requests, onboarding needs, and escalations.
- Manage multiple customer implementations and shifting priorities at the same time.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings, answer questions, identify missing information, and follow up with the appropriate partners.
- Source, reconcile, and analyze data from multiple systems to resolve revenue reporting variances, confirm billing and data-file accuracy, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
- Set up and maintain accurate client accounts and customer master data across Salesforce, NetSuite, ECB, and other billing and revenue recognition systems.
- Perform or assist with billing processes and payment reconciliation across product offerings and transaction types.
- Support recurring and ad hoc customer and billing reporting by compiling data, reporting results, and investigating and explaining variances.
- Participate in or lead client-facing calls with a professional, solutions-oriented approach.
- Partner with IT on the migration of billing processes to a new proprietary cloud billing system.
- Support ad hoc projects across enterprise-wide Order-to-Cash functions.
- Take ownership of assigned work while escalating questions or roadblocks when support is needed.
What success looks like
Within your first three to six months, you will:
- Become comfortable working in Salesforce, NetSuite, ECB, and the team’s other core systems.
- Build an understanding of customer contracts and how their terms translate into billing configurations.
- Contribute confidently in cross-functional meetings and know how to find the information needed to move work forward.
- Manage customer implementations and rate updates with increasing independence and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5 years of experience in data analysis, billing, and/or accounts receivable.
- Experience working with billing processes, financial data, healthcare data, or other data-intensive environments.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Power Query, Salesforce, NetSuite, and SQL is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret contracts and translate requirements into accurate system configurations.
- Excellent critical and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to evaluate multiple components of an issue, reconcile different datasets, identify trends, and reach sound conclusions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain complex information clearly.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing requests and manage several projects.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to own processes, identify opportunities, and drive improvements.
