The Senior Supply Chain Planner – Factory Planning is responsible for developing and executing factory production plans or work with the contract manufacturer to ensure optimal utilization of manufacturing capacity, on-time customer delivery, and efficient inventory management. This role serves as the key interface between customer demand, manufacturing operations, procurement, and engineering to translate business requirements into executable factory schedules.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in production planning within a high-tech manufacturing environment, with expertise in capacity planning, material readiness, and cross-functional coordination to support operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly factory production schedules to meet customer demand and business priorities, or work with Contract Manufacturers to achieve the said objectives.
- Convert demand forecasts and sales orders into executable manufacturing plans.
- Balance production loading across multiple lines/work centers to optimize throughput and resource utilization.
- Monitor schedule adherence and drive recovery plans for missed builds.
- Capacity Planning
- Perform short- and long-term capacity analysis across manpower, machine, and critical work centers.
- Identify bottlenecks and proactively recommend solutions to improve factory output.
- Collaborate with manufacturing leaders on capacity expansion and line balancing initiatives.
- Material Readiness & Shortage Management
- Ensure production readiness through close coordination with procurement and material planners.
- Drive material shortage resolution to minimize line disruptions and downtime.
- Prioritize constrained materials based on customer impact and business priorities.
- Factory Execution & WIP Management
- Monitor daily production progress, WIP aging, and backlog status.
- Lead daily production review meetings with manufacturing and operations teams, or contract manufacturers.
- Escalate risks impacting output, cycle time, or delivery performance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Operations to resolve planning issues.
- Support NPI ramp, engineering changes (ECO), and end-of-life transitions.
- Communicate production risks and recovery plans to leadership and stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in planning processes, scheduling discipline, and planning system accuracy.
- Lead initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve schedule attainment, and optimize inventory.
- Support automation and digitalization projects in ERP/MES/planning tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in factory planning / production planning in electronics or semiconductor manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel; Power BI knowledge is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
