This is an entry-level position designed for accounting professionals who are eager to learn, build strong client relationships, and grow into a long-term career in client advisory services.</p> <p>The CAAS Staff Accountant will work alongside experienced CAAS Seniors, Controllers, and Partners β€” gaining hands-on exposure to a wide range of client industries and accounting workflows from day one. This role is the starting point of a clearly defined career path within GMP's CAAS department, with built-in development milestones leading to Senior, Controller, and ultimately Partner-track opportunities.</p> <p class="s7"><span class="s6">The <strong>CAAS Staff Accountant </strong>will:&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li>Perform day-to-day bookkeeping for assigned clients, including transaction coding, journal entries, and bank reconciliations</li> <li>Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on schedule</li> <li>Prepare monthly client financial reports under the direction of CAAS Seniors</li> <li>Assist with payroll processing, payroll tax filings, and sales and excise tax reports</li> <li>Support month-end close activities and contribute to client financial reporting</li> <li>Maintain organized, accurate client workpapers and documentation that meet firm quality standards</li> <li>Communicate professionally with clients on routine inquiries and requests</li> <li>Apply firm best practices, internal controls, and quality standards consistently across all client work</li> <li>Seek mentorship and feedback from senior team members to accelerate your professional development</li> <li>Use QuickBooks Online and other client accounting platforms proficiently</li> </ul> <p class="s7"><span class="s6">The ideal candidate will have:&nbsp;</span></p> <div class="s12"> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (recent graduates welcome)</li> <li>0–2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related professional experience</li> <li>Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals (debits/credits, general ledger, journal entries)</li> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; comfort working in technology-forward environments</li> <li>Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred, or strong willingness to learn quickly</li> <li>Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client deadlines</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in client-facing settings</li> <li>Eagerness to learn and contribute within a collaborative public accounting environment</li> <li>Prior internship experience at a public accounting firm (preferred, but not required)</li> <li>Familiarity with additional accounting platforms (Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Xero) or AI-enabled accounting tools</li> </ul> <p><em>CPA candidate or active progress toward CPA licensure preferred.</em></p> </div> <hr> <h3><strong>How to Apply</strong></h3> <p>Submit your information in the application section directly below!
