CASS Systems Analyst
Job Title: Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) Systems Analyst
Department: Quality Control
Reports To: CASS Manager

SUMMARY:
Responsible to the CASS Manager for performing operational data analysis, which continually analyzes and surveys the effectiveness of the 10 elements of the Maintenance Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for compliance with CASS Department processes. Must identify any changes that will further the continuous improvement of departmental processes and will submit recommended policy and procedure changes to the CASS Manager for approval.
2. Conduct monthly Aircraft Systems monitoring for each Fleet Type ATA Codes which exceed their alert level.
3. Analyze Level 2 Corrosion Prevention and Control Program (CPCP) findings and coordinate with the Engineering Dept.
4. Monitor ETOPS Significant Systems and ETOPS Difficulty Report events for adverse trends.
5. Monitor Service Difficulty Reports for aircraft discrepancies which meet the criteria for a Critical Failure.
6. Perform Preliminary Root Cause Analysis & Final Root Cause Analysis of “Alert-based (i.e., Systems) and Event-based alerts” (i.e., ETOPS), which exceed their CASS Performance Standards each month, and/or “Special Projects” identified by the CASS Manager.
7. Lead Final Root Cause Analysis investigations and ensure the formal CASS Root Cause Analysis process are completed. Consult with Technical Experts, assist in the development of Corrective Actions and Follow-Up Plans, report key milestones as achieved and present the analysis to the RSG.
8. Provide alert presentation findings to the CASS Data Coordinator for inclusion in the monthly CASS Maintenance Report and RSG presentation.
9. Interface with Technical Services and Engineering Departments for technical support and communication as required, and in support of Preliminary Root Cause Analysis & Final Root Cause Analysis.
10. Maintain a quality-orientated professional culture as the CASS focal point for Systems, ETOPS Significant Systems, and CPCP processes, and understand all phases of the operational data collection and reporting for which he/she has responsibility.
12. Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Quality Control or CASS Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Airframe & Powerplant License or military aviation experience preferred.
- Degree in Aviation/Engineering, related field or equivalent desired.
- Possess knowledge and understanding of aircraft systems (ATA’s) and components.
- Excellent Analytical skills and understanding of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance, manuals, policies and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written/oral communications.
- Ability to interact with various levels of management.
- Intermediate knowledge and skills of computer applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point software required.
- Ability to self-manage time schedules and deliverables.
- Proficiency with process development and general organizational skills.
- Must be a methodical and pragmatic problem solver and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write detailed analysis reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written directions to assigned staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Intermediate ability to conduct basic mathematics; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Intermediate ability to convert between different units of measure. Intermediate to advanced aptitude to perform statistical formulas and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
