As a valued member of our Sales & Customer Solutions team at CHEP Australia, the Category Analyst supports the delivery and performance of all platforms by providing high-quality insights, analysis, and operational execution across the Go-To-Market (GTM) team.
In this role, youâll partner closely with Category Managers and broader GTM stakeholders to help drive product, price and channel outcomes - ensuring the team has the right information, insights and operational support to deliver successful platform performance.
This role will ideally be based in Sydney (Macquarie Park, NSW) or Melbourne (Dandenong, VIC) with a hybrid working arrangement.

The key responsibilities of this role include:Â
- Enable GTM decisions: Deliver insights across platforms to support Category Managers and Pricing & Programs across product, price and place, including input to IBP (Integrated Business Planning).
- Analyse & report: Turn platform/customer data into regular performance reporting and actionable recommendations.
- Track market signals: Monitor competitor activity, customer behaviour and market trends to inform platform and pricing decisions.
- Support performance to plan: Validate budgets/forecasts and help deliver platform outcomes to budget (revenue, margin, costâtoâserve, utilisation, KPIs).
- Collaborate & deliver initiatives: Partner with Finance, Supply Chain and GTM, and support projects through modelling/scenario analysis and postâimplementation review.
What will ensure your success in the role:Â
- Tertiary qualification in Business/Finance/Supply Chain (or related) or equivalent experience in a commercial/analytical role.
- Strong analytical capability with high attention to detail - able to sense-check, explain and stand behind the numbers.
- Commercial acumen - comfortable interpreting financial analysis and reports to support performance decisions.
- Confident supporting planning rhythms such as month-end reporting, forecasting and budget tracking, with a focus on forecast accuracy.
- Clear communicator who can translate data into a story and recommendations for stakeholders across Category, Finance, Supply Chain and GTM.
- Organised and proactive - able to prioritise competing requests, work autonomously and improve how reporting/insights are delivered over time.
- Continuous Improvement mindset - actively seek out opportunities to automate reporting and analytics. Microsoft Power BI experience desirable.
- Exposure to competitor/customer/market analysis, IBP-style forums, and CAPEX/business case analytics is advantageous.
