The role

We are looking for someone with an accounting or commercial background who has a willingness to learn both the supply chain function and the wider business. Ideally, the candidate is comfortable working in a fast paced, uncertain environment and can work cross functionally within project teams to develop robust financial assumptions.

This role partners with Supply Chain to provide financial insight, improve cost visibility, and support decision-making across the 7-Eleven network. You will play a key role in managing logistics costs, building robust forecasts, and identifying opportunities to optimise cost-to-serve. In the short term, the role will have a strong focus on supporting our supply chain transition, ensuring financial control, cost transparency, and effective implementation of new operating models.

Through a combination of analysis, modelling, and stakeholder engagement, this role helps ensure the supply chain operates efficiently, supports business growth, and delivers sustainable profitability. Some of the key tasks associated with the role are as follows:

  • Reconcile logistics costs against budget and supplier invoices and develop forward-looking supply chain budgets based on validated cost inputs.
  • Partner with incumbent and incoming Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) to help manage transition activities. Support financial close-out of incumbent and implementation of new KPI reporting and cost control processes with incoming LSP.
  • Enhance and maintain cost-to-serve models, including build of new dimensions (e.g. state, wholesale, product). Support dashboard development to optimise product flow across channels.
  • Prepare detailed supply chain costings for new products prior to launch, supporting pricing and channel decisions.
  • Analyse delivery routes, truck utilisation, and load efficiency to identify opportunities for optimisation, including route consolidation and frequency changes.
  • Develop commercial models for new regional stores, incorporating freight rates, delivery lead times, and logistics constraints.
  • Utilise cost models to manage logistics spend, validate benefits of continuous improvement initiatives, and partner with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage P&L activities including accruals and journals. Deliver monthly performance reporting, insights, and presentations. Oversee cost-related KPIs, GMROI, and cost-to-serve metrics.
  • Develop scenario models to assess impacts of changes in volume, fuel, labour, network structure, or supplier pricing. Provide clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.

What’s in your toolkit?

  • Proficient in accounting, with a focus on inventory and supply chain,
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to translate data into insights,
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, being able to build collaborative and effective relationships across the business,
  • The ability to think critically to find creative solutions to business and process challenges,
  • Familiarity with Power BI (modelling experience advantageous), and
  • SAP experience (beneficial but not essential)

Don’t worry if you don’t tick all the box’s for this role, we encourage you to still apply. A cover letter is required as part of your application.
