Commission Analyst
Role Description
The Commission Analyst owns accurate, on-time processing of Harmonic's sales commissions and is a lead contributor to how the program evolves. This is an individual-contributor role. You’ll combine hands-on execution — calculating and reconciling monthly commissions and resolving payee questions — with forward-looking analysis that helps shape next year’s plan design.
You’ll report to the VP, Sales Operations & Sales Enablement and work closely with Sales Operations, Finance, HR, and sales leadership. This role suits someone who wants ownership over both the numbers and the thinking behind the plan.
Location
Remote – this position is 100% Remote anywhere in the Midwest region of the US.
What you will be doing:
Own monthly commission calculations and ensure accurate, on-time payments across all incentive plans.
Reconcile commission expense against sales and finance records, and resolve payee questions.
Administer commission plans and keep compensation data current as plans, territories, or teams change.
Maintain compliance controls and support audits for sales commissions.
Lead our move to a new commission platform, including data validation and testing.
Build reports and dashboards that give leadership visibility into commission performance.
Analyze plan performance, build what-if models, and help shape next year’s plan design with Sales Operations, Finance, and HR.
Create clear communication materials and train sales teams on plan changes.
What you should have:
Experience administering a compensation or commission tool, such as Xactly, Oracle Incentive Compensation, or Varicent.
5+ years of experience in sales commission or sales compensation.
A track record of analyzing results and turning insights into plan recommendations.
Expert-level Excel skills, including building and auditing large, complex models.
Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
Comfortable working cross-functionally and presenting to senior stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
Pay & Benefits:
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $82,000 - $94,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market, location, and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
