JOB TITLE: Lead Board Certified Behavior Analyst/ Licensed Behavior Analyst (BCBA/LBA)

DIVISION: Community Living

REPORTS TO: Community Living Clinical Director Ā 

SUPERVISES: 5-10Ā 

EXEMPTION STATUS: ExemptĀ 


POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead BCBA/LBA is responsible for the clinical leadership, supervision, and performance of behavior analytic services within Community Living.


This role ensures that all behavioral services are:

• Clinically soundĀ 

• Consistently implementedĀ 

• Aligned with BACB standards, Missouri LBA regulations, DMH expectations, and BHA policiesĀ 


The Lead BCBA/LBA maintains a reduced caseload while overseeing:

• Supervision and development of BCBAs and clinical staffĀ 

• Review and approval of behavior plans and assessmentsĀ 

• Referral review and clinical appropriateness of incoming individualsĀ 

• System-wide fidelity of implementation within residential environmentsĀ 


This role operates within a DSP-implemented residential model, requiring strong focus on:


• Staff training systems

• Clinical consistency across homes

• Real-time problem solving


The Lead BCBA/LBA is accountable for ensuring that clinical services are effective, scalable, and implemented with fidelity across all environments and staff.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education & Experience

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in ABA, Psychology, Special Education, or related fieldĀ 

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) requiredĀ 

• Active state licensure (MO and/or KS as applicable)Ā 

• Completion of BACB 8-hour supervision trainingĀ 

• Minimum 4+ years experience in ABA servicesĀ 

• Minimum 2 years supervising clinical staff preferredĀ 

• Experience in residential or intensive behavioral settings preferred

Skills & Competencies

• Valid driver’s license meeting transportation requirements (Missouri Class E, out-of-state equivalent, or CDL with Passenger/School Bus endorsement).

• Expertise in ABA, BSP development, and behavior reduction strategiesĀ 

• Ability to analyze and act on clinical and operational dataĀ

CLINICAL LEADERSHIP & SUPERVISIONĀ 

• Directly supervise BCBAs/LBAs and clinical staffĀ 

• Provide coaching, performance feedback, and developmentĀ 

• Conduct regular supervision meetings and case reviewsĀ 

• Ensure clinical staff meet productivity, quality, and compliance standardsĀ 

• Monitor and improve clinical performance across the teamĀ 


BOARD SUPERVISION & CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT

• Provide supervision to individuals pursuing BCBA certification in accordance with BACB requirementsĀ 

• Ensure all supervision meets:Ā 

o BACB standardsĀ 

o Documentation requirementsĀ 

o Competency expectationsĀ 

• Mentor clinicians in:Ā 

o AssessmentĀ 

o Treatment planningĀ 

o Ethical decision-makingĀ 

o Staff training and fidelityĀ 


PLAN REVIEW & CLINICAL APPROVALĀ 

• Review and approve:Ā 

o Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)Ā 

o Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)Ā 

o Skill acquisition programsĀ 

• Ensure all plans are:Ā 

o Clinically appropriateĀ 

o Evidence-basedĀ 

o Aligned with regulatory requirementsĀ 

• Provide corrective feedback and require revisions as neededĀ 


REFERRAL & INTAKE OVERSIGHTĀ 

• Serve as clinical lead for referral review processĀ 

• Assess appropriateness of all potential individuals served, including:Ā 

o Behavioral complexityĀ 

o Safety risksĀ 

o Environmental fitĀ 

o Staffing and training needsĀ 

• Provide recommendations regarding:Ā 

o AcceptanceĀ 

o Required supportsĀ 

o Clinical risksĀ 

• Ensure appropriate clinical planning is in place prior to admissionĀ 


CLINICAL SERVICE DELIVERY

• Maintain a caseload (reduced relative to BCBA role)Ā 

• Conduct assessments and develop BSPsĀ 

• Analyze data and adjust programmingĀ 

• Provide crisis support and planningĀ 

• Ensure outcomes are measurable and effectiveĀ 


STAFF TRAINING & FIDELITY SYSTEMS

• Oversee training systems for DSPs and RBTsĀ 

• Ensure BCBAs are effectively training staffĀ 

• Monitor fidelity across homes and teamsĀ 

• Identify gaps and implement corrective actionĀ 

• Ensure consistency across shifts and environmentsĀ 


QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE

• Monitor clinical KPIs and performance metricsĀ 

• Conduct audits of documentation and servicesĀ 

• Ensure compliance with:Ā 

o BACBĀ 

o MO LBAĀ 

o DMHĀ 

o Medicaid requirementsĀ 

• Participate in incident review and corrective action planningĀ 


ACCOUNTABILITY & IMPACT

The Lead BCBA/LBA is directly accountable for the performance, quality, and consistency of all behavioral services within Community Living.


This role is responsible for ensuring:

• BCBAs are performing effectivelyĀ 

• BSPs are clinically sound and implemented with fidelityĀ 

• Staff are trained and competentĀ 

• Referrals are clinically appropriateĀ 

• Clinical systems are consistent and scalableĀ 


The Lead BCBA/LBA is expected to lead, manage, and continuously improve the clinical system, not simply oversee individual cases.

Failure to meet these expectations may result in corrective action, as performance directly impacts client safety, outcomes, and regulatory compliance.


OTHER DUTIES

• Participate in organizational initiatives and strategic planningĀ 

• Conduct staff training, supervision, and performance evaluations as assigned

• Participate in on-call rotations for behavioral crisis response

• Complete all documentation, billing, and reporting requirements in accordance with BHA and regulatory guidelines

Starting Salary: Our compensation is competitive within the market. The starting rate for this position begins at $84.610.03 annually, with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience, and overall qualifications. In addition, this position includes a $5,000 annual stipend, paid throughout the year in accordance with company policy.
