The Senior Compliance Analyst supports the Compliance and Internal Control function, with a focus on CNBV prudential regulation, corporate governance, and regulatory obligations. The role supports the implementation of regulatory requirements into internal processes and controls, monitors ongoing compliance, and assists with regulatory reviews and remediation efforts.
Role Responsibilities
- Serving as a subject matter expert on CNBV prudential regulation and internal control requirements, supporting the implementation and ongoing compliance with the regulatory framework applicable to the financial institution.
- Overseeing the regulatory obligations framework, including the identification, tracking, assignment, and follow-up of obligations and commitments with CNBV and other applicable regulatory authorities.
- Supporting the corporate governance framework, including the implementation and monitoring of regulatory requirements applicable to the Board of Directors, committees, governance bodies, and internal control functions.
- Coordinating the implementation of new regulatory requirements into internal policies, procedures, processes, controls, governance structures, and monitoring mechanisms.
- Advising internal teams primarily on prudential regulatory requirements, including capital, liquidity, risk management, internal controls, corporate governance, regulatory reporting, and other requirements applicable to the operation of the financial institution.
- Working closely with Operations, Risk, Finance, Technology, and other relevant teams to ensure that regulatory requirements are appropriately translated into operational processes and controls.
- Monitoring the effectiveness and timely implementation of regulatory controls and remediation plans, identifying gaps and coordinating follow-up actions with the responsible teams.
- Supporting CNBV supervisory reviews, inspections, information requests, and remediation processes, including tracking regulatory observations, corrective actions, commitments, and deadlines.
- Supporting internal control assessments and internal audits, particularly in connection with prudential regulation, corporate governance, regulatory obligations, and remediation activities.
- Maintaining appropriate documentation and evidence of regulatory compliance, ensuring traceability of regulatory obligations, responsible owners, implementation status, and supporting documentation.
- Contributing to the continuous strengthening of the institution’s internal control and corporate governance framework, promoting clear accountability, effective controls, and appropriate regulatory oversight.
Role Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field Strong hands-on experience with CNBV regulation and supervisory frameworks
- Proven ability to interpret and apply prudential regulatory requirements within financial institutions or fintechs
- Experience working in compliance, regulatory affairs, or supervisory environments
- Strong analytical, communication, and advisory skills
- Familiarity with Sofipo regulation
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and provide clear, practical regulatory guidance
- Desirable / Plus: Previous experience working at regulators or directly supporting CNBV supervisory processes
- Exposure to Banxico regulation and its interaction with CNBV frameworks
- Experience supporting regulatory examinations, audits, or remediation plans
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English
