ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hybrid role based at the Territory Headquarters of The Salvation Army in 
Blackburn (2 days per week in the office).

As a Contract Support Advisor you will be:

  • Working in an internal customer service capacity providing advice to all staff including Managers and employment consultants working on the front line regarding departmental guidelines and systems.
  • Managing Contract Management relationships with key external representatives (particularly from the Account and Contract Management teams) within the relevant government departments.
  • Assist with reviews of Program Assurance and audit activities to ensure that all requirements are met and reduce recoveries, as required.
  • Providing accurate and timely responses to internal staff on contractual, policy and system questions to support service delivery and optimise revenue.
  • Making decisions on contractual issues and problems that cannot be resolved by operational managers and team leaders.
  • Maintaining a knowledgebase of responses and transferring the knowledge to staff to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Analysing contractual information in deeds and guidelines and communicating accurate information to staff at all levels to support service delivery. 
  • Completion of override requests to ensure that Outcomes can be achieved.
  • Reviewing and organising signing of MOUs and agreements.

This role suits someone who enjoys working in an internal customer service capacity as this role provides advice to all staff including Managers and Employment Consultants working on the front line and support services staff regarding departmental guidelines and systems and liaising with representatives of government departments.

ABOUT YOU

This is an ideal next step if you’re ready to move from frontline or site‑based work into a national office specialist role.
You'll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Experience in Employment Services (essential)
  • Contract or compliance experience in a highly regulated environment (advantage but not essential)
  • Planning, prioritisation and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, pursue innovative solutions, and deliver results within a rigorous compliance framework;
  • Experience working on projects, within strict timeframes
  • A methodical and analytical approach to conducting research, evaluation and development;
  • Skills in undertaking research and conducting investigations;
  • Strategic thinking (forward looking, big problem solver) and the demonstrated application of knowledge through to delivery and implementation;
  • High level of customer service, relationship building, communication and  negotiation skills
  • Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Adobe & Outlook.

  • National Criminal History Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
