Position Summary:
As an integral member of the Cancer Care Quality and Innovation Team, the Quality Coordinator, organizes and orchestrates various projects under the direction of the Cancer Program Quality Manager and Medical Lead. Projects are aimed at promoting quality and safety standards of excellence for staff, patients and families.
Duties:
- Support the Quality Manager/Medical Lead in coordinating projects where applicable including data analysis, evaluation planning, project charter creation and reporting
- Participate in the design and implementation of QI project charters and change ideas to drive outcomes
- Review literature and best practices to support the development of quality improvement initiatives
- Conduct quality audits inclusive and not limited to chart audits, interviews, observations
- Interpret, review and analyze trends in quality improvement data for proactive identification of opportunities in the system. Share and validate this information with the data team and clinical members.
- Create data management systems and oversee data reporting for quality projects
- Complete data analysis and make recommendations, to the quality leadership or other teams in a simple manner (via written or verbal presentations).
- Monitor the progress and quality of work being performed for the purpose of managing project timelines and deliverables.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations; identifying risks, scheduling changes/adjustments, milestones met, unforeseen issues, and upcoming activity and impact on UHN staff, patients and community.
- Perform administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the quality program
- Utilize expertise to play a pivotal role throughout the project design phase, including: coordinating schedule, preparing/monitoring schedules, keeping abreast of relevant factors that can/will impact the project, ensuring that the plan is implemented appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with various UHN departments such as Digital, Infection Prevention and Control, Occupational Health and Safety and external stakeholders such as Ontario Health.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Health sciences, Quality or Project management
- At Least 2 years experience working in a health care setting
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management certification preferred.
- Quality improvement knowledge certificate preferred
- Excellent excel skills and statistical analysis skills required
- Previous Epic Use required
- Excellent communication skills to manage minutes, emails, meetings, and client/stakeholder/vendor relationships
- Excellent attention to detail, organization and time management required
