The role is responsible for data collection, mapping, validation, and maintenance to ensure accurate integration into BASF Customs Dashboards and other customs-related applications. The incumbent serves as a key operational contact for customs data requests, reporting, and analyses from Corporate Functions and Business Units. The role supports the preparation of customs and duty-related insights, evaluates the impact of regulatory changes, and contributes to data-driven decision-making through analytics and standardized reporting. Main Tasks Data Management <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Maintain and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of global customs data.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Perform data mapping, validation, and integration into customs dashboards and reporting tools.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Generate customs and duty-related reports, analyses, and insights for stakeholders.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Develop and maintain standardized dashboards and visualizations for customs reporting.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Collaborate with customs, business, and digital teams to improve data quality and reporting processes.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Support duty optimization initiatives through data analysis and identification of savings opportunities.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Contribute to data governance, process improvement, and continuous enhancement of customs analytics capabilities.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Define, develop and monitor global Customs KPI and upload it into the GB Scorecard</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Proactively engages Customs Communities of practices to ensure globally defined processes</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Closely align activities with Process Design and AI Team to implement necessary changes in the process landscape</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Deep dive into and analyses of BASF internal & external customs data and presentation in a visual standardized format in close collaboration with Supply Chain Excellence team</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Provide Training to Customs Community</li> </ul> Data Analysis & Reporting <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Deep dive into and analyses of BASF internal & external customs data</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Analyze customs data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Prepare and present compliance reports and dashboards to regional and global leadership.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.</li> </ul> Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Collaborate with customs communities, business units and supply chain functions.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Act as the primary contact for customs communities, regional business units and supply chain on Customs Dashboard topics</li> </ul> Requirements Education <ul style="margin-top:2.0pt"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Engineering or a related field.</li> </ul> Working Experience <ul style="margin-top:2.0pt"> <li>5+ years of experience in customs compliance, trade compliance, supply chain or customs operations, with regional or global exposure.</li> <li>Strong understanding of customs regulations, broker management, and internal control systems.</li> </ul> Technical & Professional Knowledge <ul style="margin-top:2.0pt"> <li>Good Customs and Foreign Trade knowledge and regulations</li> <li>Good Supply Chain Operations knowledge</li> <li>Strong communication and argumentation skills</li> <li>Strong analytics thinking</li> <li>Strong teamwork competence</li> <li>Structured work organization</li> <li>Experience in project management is desirable</li> <li>Good knowledge of the SAP master data systems and SAGP GTS</li> </ul> The BASF Service Hub Kuala Lumpur (BASF Asia-Pacific Service Centre Sdn Bhd) is strategically located in the capital city of Malaysia.
