About the role

We're looking for an enthusiastic Cyber Security Analyst to join AGL's Cyber Transformation team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of cyber capability uplift initiatives while building a strong foundation in cyber operations, governance, and security tooling.

Working closely with Cyber Security, IT, Cloud Engineering and program teams, you'll contribute to the successful rollout of new cyber capabilities, support operational readiness activities, and help ensure smooth transitions into business-as-usual operations. As transformation initiatives conclude, you'll move into an ongoing Cyber Operations role, supporting governance, reporting, risk management and continuous improvement activities.

This role is ideal for someone early in their cyber career who brings curiosity, a positive attitude, and a strong desire to learn from experienced professionals.

Please note: this is a fixed term contract for 24 months.

Some of the things you'll do are:

  • Support cyber transformation and uplift initiatives through capability rollout and operational readiness activities.

  • Develop and maintain documentation including runbooks, process guides, knowledge articles and BAU handover materials.

  • Assist with cyber governance activities such as risk tracking, control mapping and compliance documentation.

  • Support testing, readiness assessments and configuration validation for new security tools and platforms.

  • Partner with Cyber Security, IT, Cloud Engineering and project teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

  • Monitor emerging cyber trends, including AI-enabled threats, and contribute insights to program activities.

  • Support the transition into Cyber Operations, contributing to governance, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

We're looking for people who have:

  • A qualification in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline (completed or in progress).

  • An understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including networks, operating systems and common security concepts.

  • A growth mindset with a willingness to learn, seek feedback and develop through mentoring and hands-on experience.

  • Exposure to security technologies such as SIEM, EDR or governance platforms.

  • An interest in cyber risk, governance, compliance and security operations.

We’d love to see your applications by Tuesday 4th August 2026.
