Position Summary
The Global Forward Network (GFN) team is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist/ Data Analyst to support the development of data-driven solutions that enhance logistics operations across our global network. This role will focus on transforming complex logistics data into actionable insights through dashboard development, data visualization, process analytics, and business intelligence solutions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing existing analytics platforms while partnering with cross-functional teams to develop new capabilities using tools such as Tableau, Celonis, Databricks, SAP, and other enterprise data platforms. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on global logistics initiatives spanning warehouse operations, transportation, brokerage, customer fulfillment, and network optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Analytics & Cost-to-Serve Support
- Support the development and maintenance of the Logistics Cost Taxonomy framework, establishing standardized cost classifications across warehouses, transportation, brokerage, and related logistics services.
- Analyze spend, invoice, and operational data to identify cost drivers, trends, and opportunities for optimization.
- Validate and map logistics spend data to support accurate cost allocation and benchmarking activities.
- Contribute to the development of Cost-to-Serve models by providing data analysis, business requirements, and operational insights.
- Support enterprise system development efforts by collaborating with Cost-to-Serve team to define data structures, reporting requirements, and analytical use cases.
- Assist in translating business requirements into scalable analytics solutions that enhance cost transparency and decision-making across the logistics network.
Data Analytics & Visualization
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Tableau dashboards that support operational performance, cost management, and customer service metrics.
- Build interactive visualizations that enable stakeholders to monitor KPI performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Perform data analysis to uncover trends, anomalies, and business insights across logistics operations.
- Automate reporting processes to improve data accessibility and reduce manual effort.
Business Intelligence & Digital Transformation
- Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and support the deployment and adoption of various analytics platforms, including Celonis and Tableau.
- Participate in process mining and operational analytics initiatives to identify process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Assist in the migration, optimization, and standardization of existing reporting solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with logistics operations teams, across Asia, Europe, and North America to deliver business solutions.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Support global projects focused on transportation, warehouse operations, brokerage, and network optimization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Recent graduate or graduating within the current academic year.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization concepts.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools through coursework, internships, or projects.
- Familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or other data analytics programming languages.
- Exposure to supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or operations analytics.
- Understanding of data modeling, dashboard development, and business intelligence concepts.
- Knowledge of process mining platforms such as Celonis is a plus.
- Experience with SAP or enterprise systems is advantageous.
