At Springer Nature, we recognise that great talent develops through many different paths. We encourage applications from individuals with strong transferable skills, provided they are supported by relevant experience that shows how those skills have been successfully applied in practice. Our hiring approach balances skills, experience, and potential to ensure each role is fulfilled with both short term effectiveness and long-term growth in mind.

About the Role

The Web Analytics Enablement team is responsible for helping teams across Springer Nature measure, understand, and improve digital experiences. We enable consistent, reliable analytics through standards, implementation support, governance, and actionable reporting so stakeholders can make confident, data-driven decisions.

As an Analytics Specialist, you will bring a strong foundation in digital measurement and understand how analytics choices align to broader organisational goals. You will work at scale across a complex, long-lived web ecosystem where data quality, privacy/consent, security, and maintainability are essential. The role combines continuous improvement of existing tracking with the rollout of new measurement capabilities supporting tracking design and implementation via tag management, and validating data end-to-end (from collection to reporting) to ensure GA4 and BigQuery outputs are accurate and usable.

You will partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Editorial) to translate business questions into measurable requirements, influence tracking and reporting approaches, and maintain reliable dashboards and documentation. A key part of the role is enablement: providing guidance, training, and support materials so stakeholders can adopt consistent analytics practices and become increasingly self-sufficient.

The job is based in Pune, and you will work remotely at times with colleagues in other locations.

  • Run baseline GA4 audits for assigned properties (event/parameter consistency, key journey coverage, cross-domain measurement) and document priority issues + recommended fixes.
  • Validate GA4 data quality using BigQuery (BQ), including reconciliation checks between GA4 UI and BQ extracts (where relevant).
  • Monitor GA4 to BigQuery export reliability (freshness/completeness), including event volumes, missing days, and schema/parameter population; define escalation for export incidents.
  • Update/produce essential documentation in Confluence (definitions, QA checklist, property/dataset inventory updates).

Within 6 Months

  • Identify and complete tasks related to your areas of technical expertise with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate effective communication in meetings and discussions to help others understand our goals and technologies.
  • Start active contribution & share insights to solve domain specific challenges.

  • Independently deliver tracking QA and issue resolution end-to-end, coordinating fixes with relevant teams and maintaining clear status/ownership.
  • Improve tracking consistency across assigned properties by closing priority gaps and aligning implementations to WAE standards (events, parameters, naming conventions).
  • Build and maintain reusable BigQuery SQL validation checks (data quality, anomaly detection, export completeness) and adopt them into routine QA cadence.
  • Create/maintain reusable BigQuery assets (views/derived tables) that support consistent KPI definitions and reliable reporting.
  • Strengthen/certify priority Looker Studio dashboards (or monitoring/alerts) ensuring KPIs align to agreed definitions and validated data sources.
  • Start delivering enablement: contribute to training/office hours and publish support materials that help teams follow analytics best practices.

Within 12 Months

  • Reduce recurring data issues by improving governance: tighter standards adoption, stronger release QA, better documentation, and repeatable validation/monitoring.
  • Monitor & optimize analytics health for a defined portfolio: run ongoing audits, monitor GA4 to BigQuery export reliability, and provide quarterly health summaries with remediation tracking.
  • Start supporting strategic WAE initiatives (e.g., measurement upgrade, governance refresh, experimentation measurement readiness) with tangible outputs.
  • Mature stakeholder reporting by improving/expanding certified dashboards and reusable BigQuery datasets to scale trusted insights across teams.
  • Manage GA4 and BigQuery access governance with periodic access reviews/hygiene, ensuring privacy, consent, and compliance requirements are consistently met.
  • Contribute to solving complex cross-domain measurement challenges and advanced analytics requirements as they emerge.

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree from recognized University

  • Strong data analytics and quantitative skills, with hands-on experience in implementing and testing GA4 measurement solutions through Google Tag Manager (GTM)
  • Knowledge of GDPR, cookie consent tools (e.g., OneTrust), and data privacy principles to ensure compliant data collection, governance, and analytics practices.
  • Proficient in using Big Query and SQL to validate large-scale datasets, ensure data accuracy, and support reliable dashboard reporting, while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish consistent analytics standards and documentation.

  • Consistently treats colleagues with respect, actively listens, and demonstrates empathy and compassion to foster positive working relationships.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams, prioritizing collective success and contributing to a high-performing team environment.
  • Self-motivated professional with strong organizational, prioritization, and decision-making abilities, proactively identifying opportunities to add value and drive business outcomes.
  • Comfortable engaging and building productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across both remote and in-person work environments.
  • Excellent command of English, enabling clear, concise, and effective communication that supports successful collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
