The Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Data Associate to join our Gurugram-based Corporate Data team. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily tracking, updating, and maintenance of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deal data, reported financial data, and reported operational data across the energy and natural resources sectors. You will play a critical role in ensuring our data products reflect the latest market activity with the highest standards of accuracy and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities

M&A Data

  • Monitor and update M&A deal data on a daily basis, capturing new transactions, deal status changes, valuations, and related corporate activity across relevant sectors
  • Flag data anomalies or unusual deal activity to senior team members promptly

Reported Financial Data

  • Collect, update, and maintain reported financial data for companies across coverage, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements sourced from regulatory filings, earnings releases, and company reports
  • Ensure financial data is accurately mapped to the correct entities, time periods, and reporting currencies in line with internal data standards
  • Monitor corporate reporting calendars to ensure timely capture of new financial disclosures

Reported Operational Data

  • Update and maintain operational data such as production, reserves, and other performance indicators as reported by companies
  • Cross-reference operational data against multiple sources to ensure consistency and completeness
  • Track and incorporate revisions or restatements to previously reported operational figures

Data Quality and Process

  • Ensure all data entries are accurate, complete, and consistent with established data standards and taxonomy across all data types
  • Conduct routine quality checks and data audits to identify and resolve discrepancies or gaps
  • Work with agentic AI tools to support and accelerate data collection, validation, and enrichment workflows
  • Collaborate with Corporate Data and Research team to verify information and resolve queries
  • Maintain detailed records of data sources and update logs in line with internal governance standards
  • Support continuous improvement of data processes and contribute ideas to enhance workflow efficiency

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Information Management, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy and data quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, filters, pivot tables, and data validation functions
  • A reliable and conscientious working style, with the ability to manage repetitive tasks consistently and to a high standard
  • Familiarity with or openness to working with agentic AI tools and automation-assisted workflows
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and meet daily deadlines in a structured environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a data entry, data operations, or research support role
  • Exposure to M&A, corporate finance, or energy/commodities sector data
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted tools or prompt-based workflows
