Database Administrator
What can you expect:
The purpose of this position is to ensure timely, high-quality database support by executing production database-related tasks including requests to store data for a client, fix data errors, manage disk space or storage, monitors database performance, develops scripts and provides outstanding technical support to the internal end-user community. This role helps to set the strategic direction for the database platforms.

Planning and executing on strategic database activities including on more complex issues:
Support in Installation, configuration and upgrading PostgreSQL software and products as per guidelines given.
Implement automated methods and industry best practices for consistent installation and configuration of PostgreSQL for production and non-production environments
Planning for and actual backup and recovery of database information.
Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
Prepare documentations and specifications.
- Having 6-12 yrs exp along with strong business analysis skills on Insurance domain.
- Strong understanding of fiduciary concepts.
- Work with business to extract and understand their requirements for new and existing business applications
- Assist in the technical investigation for new features and development to business applications
- Using analysis concepts, convert business requirements into technical solutions by understanding technical constraints and existing technical architecture/functionality
- Agile concepts and Story writing skills. Prepare user stories derived from the business requirements
- Present and refine user stories, into agreed acceptance criteria, with the development team
- Work alongside developers to ensure any developments are in line with requirements and are tested to an appropriate level prior to release
- Act as main point of contact for the development team with respect to product management and requirements
- Assist, where necessary, in the building, delivery and execution of test plans associated with any related developments
- Triage and prioritize defects for the team
- Ensure a high level of quality documentation is in place to cover both new developments and changes to existing applications
- Well versed with any RDBMS (preferably Oracle)
- Manage a development team backlog in accordance with product management priorities
- Using the team backlog, provide input into sprint and release planning.
- Knowledge of Scrum and it's ceremonies, ADO tool.
